Black Top BBQ was originally established as a restaurant in 1967 by Pete & Peggy Clough; it continued to be operated as such until 1977 when it was purchased by Donnie Whitehead. Old Time Wrestling Incorporated was created in 1984 by John Koster; it continued to be operated until its closure in 2002. The importance of bipedalism cannot be overstated in Beachwood history. By using this form of locomotion for various tasks throughout our history, bipedalism has played an important role in our culture and economy. While it is still debated whether or not bipedalism disappeared after the separation of the human and chimpanzee species, scientists continue to study this topic because it could provide new insights into how our ancestors evolved. For example, if we can learn how these archaic taxa maintained their capability of walking on two legs despite having different body types then we could better understand why many modern conveniences such as cars and trains work the way they do.

The town also has several restaurants and stores providing entertainment for residents during summertime activities such as swimming, boating, fishing and picnics.
