It took until 1830 for bay City to reach its current size with construction complete of a wharf/shipbuildingyard/Warehouse District which housed up to 100 businesses including several shipyards that produced ships for both American and British navies during the 19th century. In 1831 bay City passed through an act known as "The Peddlers Bill" which granted land speculators such as Edwin Mosely 640 acres (248 hectares) adjacent to what is now downtown bay City in order to form what would become called Moseley Park; this property remains today within downtown bay City limits although much of it has been redeveloped into office complexes or other high-density housing developments). In 1847 two years afterbayCity had reached its current size it passed through an act known as "The Steamboat Bill" which authorized buildingof steamboats on Lake Erie even though at that time there were no commercial steamboats operating on those waters outside of Detroit Michigan! This allowed new employment opportunities for sailors who originally worked aboard sailing vessels but also opened up new shipping routes around Cleveland which led to increased commerce in bayCity throughout much of the 19th century

Bay is a town in Clermont County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. Bay is located on the southern edge of the Monongahela Valley and has a long history as a center of industry and commerce. In 1837, it became the first town in Clermont County to be incorporated. The town's original name was for Commodore John Bayard Wright (1795-1860), one of the signers of the United States Constitution and an early leader in Ohio politics. The first store opened in Bay in 1827 and by 1830 there were six stores operating in Baytown. By 1840, there were twelve stores located in Baytown with over $10,000 worth of merchandise sold every month. The success of bay's businesses led to creation of a new town called Northport on the north side of bay just east of present day Clermontville. Northport quickly become known as "the business center" for eastern Ohio because its location made it convenient to major railroads and other businesses that operated near Cleveland. In 1847, Merchants' Bank erected a four-story brick building on what is now downtown Northport which remains today one of its most visible landmarks. In 1850, Bay became home to one of America's first textile mills when French Mills started operations here followed by local companies such as Harrison & Sons Paper Company and JnoLaughlin Manufacturing Company which manufactured printers typesetters until World War II when they closed their doors due to wartime production restraints
Bay is located in Bay County, Ohio and was founded by the Potawatomi Indians in 1814. The town was named for the bay that separates Toledo from Mentor. In 1834, Bay became a part of the newly created Sandusky Township. In 1837, Bay became a part of the new Sandusky County when it was formed from parts of Lucas and Scioto counties.
