The history of Bay, Ohio is a rich one that has spanned over centuries. The area was first inhabited by the Shawnee and later by the Potawatomi. In 1814, the United States acquiredBay from France in what is now Michigan. At this time, Bay was part of the Northwest Territory and was known as Mayfield Heights. In 1824, Congress created Dickenson County in northwestern Ohio to encompass all of Bay Township and much of neighboring Grosse Pointe Township. The county had a population of only 160 people when it was established. However, due to its location and ample water resources, Dickenson County became very successful and prospered until the late 19th century. By 1900, it had a population of 3,000 people. In 1871, Bay contained two gun shops that were operated by resident J.W. Nichols and Wm Hargrave respectively. These shops were responsible for manufacturing most all types of ammunition used in shotguns at that time including sporting shot, rifle bullets, buckshot and shotgun shells. Ammunition production continued until about 1920 when it really began to decline becauseOf advances in technology such as firearms development that made guns more accurate and efficient than ever before;bay's reliance on imported ammunition led to high prices for these goods which caused many families to give up gun ownership during World War I (1914-1918). Additionally, numerous machineguns were produced during World War I using American-made ammunition which led to a decrease in demand for bay ammo also resulting in increased prices even though military ammo cost less than commercial ammo

Bay, Ohio is a small town located in the southwestern corner of Ohio. It is bordered by West Chester to the south and east, Cincinnati to the north, and Paulding County to the west. The population of Bay was 1,711 as of the 2010 census. The first Europeans to visit Bay were French traders in 1692. Many settlers from East Prussia arrived in 1813 with their families for unknown reasons. The first post office was established in 1816. By 1830, Bay had a population of over 350 people. In 1835, Bay became a village and its charter was granted by George Washington Carver. In 1850, it had a population of 2,000 people; two years later it reached 3,000 people. In 1861-1865 Bay experienced three wars fought by Confederate forces against Union forces: Battle of Perryville (March 1861), Battle of Perryville (May 1862), and Second Seminole War (August 1865). During these wars many citizens enlisted in military service or volunteered for duty. bay also experienced some devastating natural disasters such as floods that destroyed homes and businesses in 1871-72 and 1886-87; severe hurricanes that struck the area during 1897-98 and 1900; tornado damage on September 21st 1921 which killed six people including four children playing near home; an ice storm on November 17th 1965 which knocked out power for several hours; Typhoon Haiyan on October 8th 2013 which caused extensive destruction throughout central Philippines causing more than 700 fatalities

Bay, Ohio is a small town in the Athens-Clarke County, Ohio area that was founded in 1806. The town was named for John Baynton, a landowner who donated the land for its location. Bayton's donation helped to form the Athens Township and later the Clarke Township. Bayton also built a log cabin here which is still extant. The first school in Bayton was established in 1810 and was taught by Mrs. Ann Blackledge. In 1812, Baynton donated another piece of land to establish a gristmill on his property. The mill continued operating until 1888 when it closed because of lack of resources. The first post office in Bayton was established in 1814 and operated until 1865. In 1840, baynton donated several acres of land to create what is now the baynton park district which contains many recreational activities including swimming, fishing, ball playing, hiking and biking trails as well as an amphitheater used for community events such as summer concerts and fairs. In 1902, baynton erects a meetinghouse which remains standing today and serves as the town hall today. In 1906, bayTON erected a cotton gin on his property which continues to operate today Windsors Mill Creamery produces milk from livestock brought into the township during the year by residents who are allowed to take home one quart per week of milk they produce
