In 1836, the United States Patent Office issued a patent to Nicholas-Jacques Conte for an improvement in firearms that allowed them to be fired without reloading. This innovation became known as the revolving magazine. In 1851, John Brown & Company began manufacturing rifles in Cincinnati, Ohio using this new technology. The popularity of these rifles led to the development of other calibers and types of ammunition, including Winchester rifle ammunition and shell casings produced by Remington Arms Company in New York City. The early 20th century was a time of great technological change, with guns evolving from muzzleloaders into breechloading machineguns and eventually pistols. Ammunition manufacturers experimented with new propellant formulations and projectiles in an effort to increase firepower while ensuring reliability and sustainability. By World War I, barrel length had become so restricted that most handguns could only be fired with buckshot or shotgun rounds; however, ammunition manufacturers continued to produce high-capacity rounds for use in artillery pieces such as howitzers and tank turrets. With the entry into World War II, production resumed on large caliber ammunition items such as shellshells (HE)and incendiary bullets (incendiary). During World War II experimentation also occurred with advanced propellant formulations (ejected gas powder) which would later play a significant role in developing both nuclear weapons and conventional munitions used today across all conflict zones

Barberton, Ohio is a small town in the United States located in the Central Ohio Valley. The population was 3,863 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton-Middletown-Stroudsburg, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village of Barberton was chartered on February 14, 1868, by Commissioners John D. Coolidge and Augustus Kelley. The town is named for General George Washington Barber (1754-1829), an American soldier who fought in the French and Indian War and later served as Secretary of War under James K. Polk. In 1872, General David Dixon settled in Barberton and became its first Mayor. He also donated land to create a Village Square which still stands today. The parochial school system began operation in 1892 with a primary class of six students and gradually grew to serve over 100 students through four grade levels before it merged with the common school district in 1907. Today there are three high schools: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School ( founded 1911 ), Sturgis Academy (founded 1950 ), and Emmanuel Episcopal Church School (founded 1955 ). A major employer since its inception has been First National Bank which has had more than one billion dollars worth of transactions processed through its ATM machines throughout central Ohio since 1984! Barberton is a small town in the northeast corner of Ohio, located about 25 miles (40 km) north of Toledo and 45 miles (72 km) east of Cleveland. The population was 9,914 at the 2000 census. The community was founded in 1802 by Captain John Barber and his family. It became a village in 1833, and a borough in 1865. In 1903, the name was changed to Barberton after Captain Edwin H. Barber who had been named postmaster there in 1892. The first school in Barberton was built on what is now First Street just south of East Main Street in 1802. A schoolhouse stands still today on this location and is used as a museum for local history items. Other early buildings include an old gristmill which still stands next to Third Avenue South; and a Baptist Church which also stood until it burned down in 1915. In 1865, the first cotton gin was erected in Barberton by Wm JH White & Sons Pte., Ltd., with help from Anthony Carman Sr.. The industry continued to grow throughout the 19th century with new mills being constructed including one by George Burtzmann that operated from 1889-1901 and another by Philip Sellers that operated from 1902-1905. However, World War I caused much economic decline for the town; most businesses closed during the war while production shifted to wartime munitions plants across the country It wasn’t until after World War II that progress began again with several new businesses opening up including two grocery stores (the original Joe’s Place store closed when its landlord went out of business), two residency halls – one for students attending Toledo State University and one for workers at nearby Lorain County Community College – as well as some homebuilders New growth also occurred with several small commercial areas developing such as Market Square Park/Best Western Inn & Suites, Checketts Road Business Center/CVS Pharmacy, Old North Law Offices/Gasoline Alley Mart etcetera over time while other aspects such as transportation were reworked or abandoned altogether like zoning changes making it difficult or impossible to build housing any longer . On July 1, 2006 Barbourton voters passed an ordinance changing their name back to “Barberton” following decades of discussion among residents about changing their community identity . Today Barberton enjoys continued success with many businesses open along its main streets including two grocery stores (Joe's Place & Market Square Park), residency halls - one for students attending Toledo State University and one for workers at nearby Lorain County Community College - as well as several smaller commercial areas such as Best Western Inn & Suites, Checketts Road Business Center/CVS Pharmacy, Old North Law Offices/Gasoline Alley Mart etcetera
