Avon has been home to residents for many years and was founded by John Avon in 1803 as a small village on the east side of what is now Butler County. It became an incorporated town in 1825. In 1896, it became the capital of Butler County. The city is located near Cincinnati, Ohio. John Avon founded Avon in 1803 after traveling through central Ohio looking for land to purchase. On his final trip he passed through what is now known as Butler County and saw that there were no villages or towns on the east side of the river where he could build his own house and settle down with his family. He knew that this would be a long journey but if he could find a place to make his home then he felt confident that he could succeed. John Avon named his new settlement "Avon" after himself and built a small cabin adjacent to where modern day Marsh Road meets the river just south of what is now downtown Butler County. This location allowed him easy access to local resources and made it an ideal spot for farming activities as well as trading with other parts of Ohio and Kentucky (then part of Virginia). Throughout these early days, many people from surrounding areas settled in Avon because it offered easy access to local food sources and businesses as well as good transportation links into Cincinnati from across the state or from more distant locations such as Dayton or Middletown (now Tellico Hills). The first settlers had difficulty getting along with each other due to their different languages but over time they realized how important it was for them all to work together towards common goals so they organized themselves into committees which met regularly at various places around town including John's Cabin/Market Place until eventually they came up with a name for their organization "thevillage". TheVillage soon started organizing itself into factions based on political beliefs which only helped further complicate things but ultimately they all wanted one thing - They wanted status within their community! Eventually word got out about John's Cabin/Market Place so large groups began arriving from other parts of Pennsylvania, Indiana etc., seeking refuge from warring factions within their own communities which only made things worse! For much longer than anyone wanted to admit there seemed little we could do about it; our community slowly unraveled piece by piece until finally something terrible happened: A fire burned down John's Cabin/Market Place completely destroying everything inside leaving us stranded without anything else except memories... And that's when we decided that maybe our original vision wasn't such a bad idea after all! Avon, Ohio is located in the U.S. state of Ohio and is part of the Dayton metropolitan area. The population was 27,865 at the 2010 census. Avon was founded in 1824 by John Avon and his wife Esther as a small town on the Scioto River near what is now Cincinnati. In 1840, Avon became an incorporated village after successfully petitioning for incorporation from a group of three towns that had amalgamated to form Wilmington Township. The village post office opened in 1841 and continued operation until it was closed in 1955. In 1868, Avon unsuccessfully applied for membership in the Greater Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce because its members were limited to people living within 10 miles of their headquarters in Medina County (the so-called "10 Mile Limit"). A decade later, however, the city of Dayton annexed most of what remained of Avon Rural Village while also annexing portions of nearby Whitehall Township into its own municipality; this action created a new township called Amherst which bordered Avon on one side and Whitehall Township on the other. The first residents arrived inAvon during 1824 when John Avon came from England with his family to establish a cotton plantation along the Scioto River near what is now Cincinnati as part of his efforts to improve transportation links between eastern Kentucky and southeastern Michigan through land purchases and other investments totaling more than $1 million dollars ($102 million today). Because no railroads existed at that time, goods transported by boat or horseback were much cheaper than via trains or cars. By 1830, John's plantation had been lost due to lack of profits but he continued investing money into improvements including: construction of a millrace supplying water for irrigation; founding a school; building two churches -one Congregationalist and one Methodist - both completed by 1833; establishmentof four slave families who served primarily as domestic help; constructing warehouses where goods could be stored before being shipped off to markets around America John's successors established additional plantations over time including: Davidstown (1839), Greeneville (1843), Piqua (1845), New Albany (1848) and Mansfield (1851). Timber production played an important role during these years asenormous amounts were needed for construction projects such as damming up the Scioto River so engineers could build bridges across it without destroying valuable forestland ; exports fromAvon increased significantly during this period resulting from increased demand for cloth made throughout America following development along riverbanks irrigated with water drawn from wells located several miles upstream
