In 1916 the college acquired land that would become its present-day campus; construction began on what would become known as "The Quad" which included three buildings: Science Hall (1916), Engineering Building (1920) and main Campus Building (1927). In 1924-25 an addition to Science Hall were built which housed a gymnasium/auditorium and other academic functions for the university's students and staff alike
