In 1945, Browning-Hargarge Firearms Corporation merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Winchester Repeating Arms Co., which continues today as one of America’s leading firearms manufacturers. Throughout its history, Winchester Repeating Arms Co.,Browning-Hargarge Firearms Corp., and George Hargrave Manufacturing Company have all produced some of the most iconic gunlights on the market today: red & green strobe light gunsights (the original design), muzzleloaders (which became popular during World War II), rifle sights (such as those found on machine guns), grenade launchers (such as those used during The Vietnam War), AND pistol griplight variants!

The name originated from an alliance of the three communities to resist Indian attacks. Today, Alliance has a population of around 2,000 residents and is home to several major businesses including Stroud-Walsh Furniture and Allied Chemical Company. In addition to its economic vitality, Alliance also boasts a rich history that has helped make it one of the most culturally diverse communities in central Ohio. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Alliance were farmers who arrived from Pennsylvania and Maryland. They started farming what is now eastern Township 3 north of the current village line. In 1811, they formed an alliance with other farmers nearby to resist Indian raids. This collaboration led to the founding of Union which was located on land that today forms eastern Township 4 south of the current village line. Amity was located east of Union on what is now southern Township 5 north of the present village line. Over time, both Union and Amity grew into sizeable towns with their own schools and churches. In 1849, when western Township 6 east of present day Alliance became part of statehood, Alliance became one of the first towns in Ohio to achieve statehood as well. Over time, many important amenities such as a hospital, post office and jail have been established within Alliance's boundaries including Stroud-Walsh Furniture Company which began operations in 1916 and remains one of its largest employers today! Today, Alliance continues its reputation as a vibrant community with friendly people and an arrayof cultural attractions that include art galleries, theaters and music venues! The community's unique landscape features rolling hillsides filled with farms and trees – perfect for watching football or playing catch uphill!

Dayton's post became an important hub for trade and transportation throughout central Pennsylvania and northwestern Virginia while also serving as a base from which American forces fought against Native Americans during the Northwest Indian Wars (1810-1813). As early as 1802, traders and travelers could find goods available at Dayton's trading post including pumpkins, potatoes, gunpowder, flour, saltpeter and other commodities not found anywhere else east of the Alleghenies River. In 1806, General James Ketchum laid out a town called Sandusky on Lake Erie overlooking present-day Toledo Bay; it would be called Sandusky because it lay between two lagoons – one known today as Sandusky Bay and another now known as Muskegon Lake – forming what is now downtown Toledo . In 1811 Ketchum began construction on Saginaw County Courthouse Square near downtown Toledo ; this influential civic building still stands today as one of downtown Toledo 's most significant landmarks. As newcomers arrived inOhio they started small businesses or farming villages but soon realized that there was much potential for growth given both natural resources such as coalitional land around Youngstown along with rich agricultural soils located near water sources like Mahoning Valley . In 1814 Anthony Wayne founded Alliance which would later become one of America 's most important manufacturing cities . The city quickly grew due to its location within easy commuting distance to major markets including Cincinnati , Cleveland , Buffalo , Newark -onne New Jersey (then part of England )and Albany -on Hudson River . By 1830 Alliance had over 20 mills employing more than 2200 workers providing products such as clothiers' dyes and shoe polish to consumers all across eastern United States
The first German American settlers in Alliance, Ohio were Gottlieb and Anna Lefkowitz. The couple arrived on December 2, 1814, from the town of West Eggersdorf, Germany. They were the first Germans to settled in what is now Alliance. Father Franziskus Kühnhardt established a Catholic church in Alliance on July 15, 1817. That same year, the town was renamed after General George Washington. In 1830, Captain John J. Reynolds became the first postmaster of Alliance and served until his death in 1845. On February 11, 1861, President Abraham Lincoln issued Executive Order 10753 which ordered all Germans living within five miles of Cincinnati to leave their homes and return to Germany or be interned for five years. The order caused great dismay among many Alliance residents who felt they had taken advantage of government largesse when they could have stayed put. However, many more Germans decided to stay after learning about the order from friends or family members abroad. By 1863, there were over 1,500 German Americans living in Alliance alone and seven other towns throughout southeast Ohio
