In 1816, when Congress passed an act creating United States territorial jurisdictions across North America — Michigan included — Kenedytown become part of Cleveland – becoming only the second US town after Williamsburg, Virginia to be incorporated into a new country (the others being Niagara Falls). The town was formally annexed by Cleveland on March 15, 1836 following its incorporation into larger metropolitan Cleveland under government ordinance No., 3777 approved June 25th by Mayor John Pemberton with Act No., 3821 ratified December 5th . At that time it had a population estimate ranging from 3200 to 4400 people but within 10 years it had grown rapidly reaching over 6000 people by 1860 due largely to waves OF immigration: Poles (now Ukrainians), Germans (now Ashkenazi Jews), Irish Catholics*, Italians*, Scandinavian* farmers* , Slovaks*. A rapid industrialization process characterized by landmark inventions such as steelmaking began soon thereafter aided by American investment including Cyrus McCormick & Co.'s introduction into agriculture Products like flour ended up cheaper here than back East What followed were some amazing social changes too – women got medicine degrees from Harvard University starting around 1850 while black men started working outside their homes doing anything from sweeping streets or picking cotton to moving goods cars & trucks etc…. And some beautiful architecture took form including Dexter National Bank Building which still stands today
