In the 1870s, West Fargo was a small town in northeastern North Dakota. It was located on the banks of the Missouri River, about 25 miles north of Fargo. The town was founded by Dutch farmers who had to leave their homes because of the American Civil War. Ammo production began in 1873 and continued until around 1920.
