Minot is a city in North Dakota, United States. The population was 397 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cass County. The name for the merged entity changed from "Minot" to "North Dakota City". On November 3, 2009 NCDOT announced that it would end its construction on Interstate 94 in the center of town and convert all east-west lanes into two expressways known as Boulevard Avenue and Meridian Avenue which will lead directly from downtown into business districts across town while preserving much of the residential character and character around Boulevard Avenue (the old street grid). This change will eliminate one traffic lane each way along Interstate 94 within 500 feet (150 m) or so either side of Business Boulevard avenues between ND Drive (now Blvd.) south/west down to ND Street east/ northeast then northwesterly on ND Street out towards Highway 16; this will result in an increase in travel time through town from 15 minutes now to about 30 minutes when traveling westbound on I-94 instead of 10 minutes now when traveling eastbound on I-94 From what we understand this project should be complete by early 2020
