In 1910 the Masonic Lodge #842 (Founded in 1907) sponsored a rifle range at 7th and Center Streets which became known as “The Range at 7th and Center Street” later renamed “Masonic Arms Armory” because it was used by both the lodge and local police departments for training purposes. In 1912 both these ranges were transferred to the newly formed First State Rifle Association but quickly reverted back to their earlier name due to lack of membership support from within that organization. In 1915 an armory/range complex was built at 400 Broadway Street which served as both an armory and rifle range for local government agencies such as city police, firemen, etcetera. In 1916 this complex was sold to the Dakota National Guard who kept it until 1949 when it passed through private ownership and is now called “The Armory Complex” located off I-94 near Fargo, ND. It should be noted that not all gun magazinesOperated out ofArmories or Ranges during this time period; some magazines actually existed solely as pistol clubs or target practice facilities! In 1934 there was a large explosion at one of North Dakota's major oil refineries killing forty-six people including twenty-four firefighters and two supervisors working inside Refinery No 11 on South Boulevard in Dickinson City Limits when a pipe exploded prematurely from a compressor being used by nearby Matson Oil Company! This event marked Manitoba's first confirmed homicide caused by gunfire! It should also be noted that this particular attack occurred just days afterManager Harry Huggins had been acquitted of federal charges relating to his role in kickbacks scheme against rival oil companies! It has been stated that Huggins may have been behind this attack due to his frustration with management at Matson Oil Company following its purchase by Murphy Oil Corporation! Additionally, shortly after this tragedy Manager Harry Huggins resigned effective immediately effective upon learning about what happened inside Refinery 11; he had faced multiple probes related tokickbacks Scheme involving other industry partners!
