Wilson is a town in Dare County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,622 at the 2010 census. It is the principal city of Wilson Micropolitan Statistical Area, which has a population of 3,846 as of 2015. The first known European to visit the area now known as Wilson was Captain John Smith in 1607 during his search for a Northwest Passage. He named the area "Newfound Land" after finding no evidence that it had been visited by humans before him. On July 4, 1776, General George Washington and his army invaded and conquered Yorktown Plantation from British forces under Colonel Thomas Pritchard. Aftermath of the battle resulted in American independence from Great Britain. Settlement began in earnest on what is now Wilson's north side about 1820 when Andrew Johnson first bought land there from John Easton for $5 per acre (about $40 per square mile). At that time there were only 10 families living in what is now Wilson; today the population tops 2,000 people and growing rapidly due to economic development including new housing developments surrounding the downtown core and along Southeastern Boulevard near Interstate 95/I-95A east of town. In 1828–29 two surveyors recommended naming this community "Fayetteville." A committee presided over by Judge James Fenton selected "Wilson," after Sir Walter Scott's novel "Dracula." In 1845 David Forbes settled here with his family after moving from Scotland on cattle drives through North Carolina countryside. Forbes became one of the most successful merchants in Dare County and built many homes hereabouts including what is now Forbes Hall on Southeastern Boulevard just west of I-95A/US 301 (Ferguson Street). The community prospered until railroad construction came along which derailed business opportunities within minutes of opening day in 1865; thereafter residents turned their backs on Wilson for lack of access to jobs associated with tracks running through their townshows – something which would continue until recently (though some businesses have reopened since then). By 1870 census there were 9 storekeepers & 20 farmers living here; by 1880 there were 50 storekeepers & 100 farmers living here; by 1890 it had increased to 150 storekeepers & 300 farmers living here according to USGS data In 1870 white men constituted only 14% ($9/$38) out of total population while black men constituted 78% ($21/$64) out of total population; nevertheless “colored” males made up 29% ($10/$30) out Of all citizens by 1890’s standards By 1920 African Americans comprised fully 43% ($24/$68)outOfWilsonian Population while Chinese made up less than 1% ($1/$4)outOfTotal populace

One such attempt happened in 2017 when researchers at Johns Hopkins University released a study that found that using tasers instead of firearms could actually save lives in shootings situations where thoseOfficers were shot while using their weapons
In the early 1800s, there was a lot of debate over whether or not tasers were effective. Some people thought they were, while others didn't think so. Ultimately, the decision was made to start using them on suspects in order to try and get them to calm down.
Wilson was a small town in North Carolina during the late 1800s. It was a stop on the Underground Railroad for slaves, and it is also where Wilson's first post office opened in 1881. The town was also home to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s family, who were instrumental in his rise to national prominence. Wilson is now known as an Historic District, and it is still considered a thriving community today.
Wilson was founded in 1827 by the brothers John and James Wilson. The town was named for General Andrew Johnson, who served as governor of North Carolina from 1829 to 1830.
