Wilson is a small town located in the eastern part of Wilson County, North Carolina. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat for Wilson County and home to the Wilson High School and Wilson University. The first gun in Wilson was a muzzleloader made by John Aiken in 1847. In 1864, Confederate General Jubal Early used a muzzleloader to shoot down Union General Ulysses S. Grant during the Battle of White Sands Army Pass near Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 1896, an all-steel revolver was patented by Hennepin & Co., makers of Smith & Wesson pistols and revolvers. This new type of revolver allowed for faster Reloading than earlier designs and became popular among law enforcement officers, surgeon general's office personnel (e.g., x-ray Technologists) etc.. The purchase of rifle rifles by civilians increased during World War I due to patriotic reasons such as support for President Woodrow Wilson’s policies including neutralityism opposed by many Americans supporting the war effort. Over time however, this trend reversed as more civilian rifles were converted into military weapons or sold to governments or militias who needed them for combat purposes instead of just personal use. This change came about as result of technological advances in firearms production which led to greater accuracy with less recoil while still allowing users to fire rounds up close without fear of hitting someone else with their gunfire

Wilson is a town in Buncombe County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Asheville–Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first gun in Wilson was an 18th-century flintlock musket imported from England. Wilson's first gunsmith was George Hennepin and his shop opened in 1792. In 1818, rifleman Wheeler Mosely built a sawmill on the river below town and started to produce rifles for the military. In 1865, Major General Jubal Early besieged Greensboro and attacked it with 5,000 Confederate soldiers and 12 cannons; when Union forces arrived to reinforce Early they found only about 100 men resident in Wilson who could fire guns. The guns were surrendered without fighting and all but three of them were melted down for cannonball ammunition by order of General Robert Estrada after he took over command of Union forces in 1865. Wilson had no school until 1888 when a small schoolhouse was built on Main Street which seated twenty students; later that year a larger building became the village hall which seating seventy-five people before being replaced by the present building in 1949. A new high school opened in 1957 which now enrolls grades 9 through 12 while plans are underway to build an annex to housegrade elementary (K-2) students as well as addition to housegrades 4-6; however these plans have not yet been finalized Wilson has two churches: First Baptist Church (founded 1925) with 615 members and Second Baptist Church (founded 1911) with 240 members

Wilson is a town in Henderson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Charlotte–Mecklenburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community started as a small post office called Wilson on December 7, 1892. It was named for General John A. Wilson who fought in the American Civil War and later served as a U.S. Congressman from North Carolina from 1911 to 1913 and as Governor of North Carolina from 1915 to 1917. In 1905, the Wilson Post Office building burned down and was replaced by a new building in 1912 which still stands today and serves as the town hall today. The first settler in Wilson was William Lunsford who arrived there on October 21, 1892 with his family wagon drawn by four horses and two mules. Another settler in Wilson was James Hightower who arrived there on January 10, 1893 with his family wagon drawn by five horses and two mules In 1902-1903, three brothers named Tilton developed what would become known as "Tilton's Corners" which extended along South Hope Road from mile marker 5 to mile marker 9 near present day Durhamtown The brothers were farmers who also built Territorial Homes for Union soldiers during World War I Wilson lost its status as a post office after it merged into Henderson County on May 1, 1907 . On February 14th 1922 an act of the State Legislature changed the name of Henderson County to Wilson after General John A (Wilson) Ashe (1866-1948), one of America’s most successful generals during World War I
