Weddington, North Carolina (population: 3,906) is the smallest city in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area and one of the most diverse cities in the Carolinas. The city was founded on December 16, 1849 by James Caldwell and Myron Cushing. It grew rapidly during the late 1800s as a result of its location at the intersection of two major railroads. In 1910, Weddington became a charter town within Charlotte. Today, Weddington remains an active bedroom community with a population of around 7,000. The history of knives began inWeddington when James Caldwell and Myron Cushing arrived in 1849 to found what would become Weddington. They were looking for a new home for their families after moving from Lexington, Kentucky where they had been working as carpenters. Caldwell’s father had owned a sawmill in that town which he sold to Cushing and his brother John in 1838. By 1850, there were over 100 people living in Weddinton and it had grown quite large for an early settlement northeast of Charlotte. At first, knife manufacturing was not very prevalent here because there were no good woods to be chopped down for lumber – instead, people relied on hunting and gathering resources such as acorns, hickory nuts, deer meat etcetera to make their own knives. However soon enough craftsmen began appearing here who made everything from axes to daggers to spears/knives and even sickles! In 1860 just four years after weddington started up shop blade making became more popular than hatchet production because swords could then be bought much easier than hatchets since they were used both militarily and commercially! This trend continued until about 1930 when scissors started becoming more popular due to advances in technology! During this time many small businesses cropped up all acrossWeddington due to its strategic location at one of Charlotte’s most important intersections! Today much of what once constituted Weddington’s commercial district can still be seen today including several banks (including First National Bank), several factories (including Goudreau Chevrolet), multiple stores (Goudreau hardware being perhaps the most well-known store), several churches ( including Presbyterian & Methodist) as well as numerous homes dating back into the 19th century! The variety of businesses present today makes it difficult not see some sort of connection between knife making here during this time period and later development outsideCharlotte which included things like automobiles or television sets! It should also be noted that whileWeddington has experienced some significant changes over its history – such as annexation by Charlotte following World War II – it has remained largely unchanged overall socially speaking with only slight variations throughout its longevity!

Weddington is a town in Robeson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 5,853 at the 2010 census. Weddington is part of the Raleigh–Durham Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what would become Weddington was John Wedgwood who arrived in 1784. He and his wife had three children: James, Mary and Sarah. In 1814, Isaac Newton Wedgwood purchased of land from the original settler and built a log cabin on it which he named "Wedgwood's Cabin" after himself and his son-in-law John Wesley Hardwick. Arethusa (née Stroud) married Isaac Newton Wedgwood on November 3, 1815; they had two children: Eliza (1816-1892), who married lawyer Asa Hutton Fenton on July 26, 1841; and John Newton (1819-1900), who served as Mayor of Raleigh from 1893 to 1899. In 1865, Jno Pemberton founded an academy which became known as Pemberton Institute in memory of his brother Jno Coker Pemberton Sr., one of the early settlers in the area. The school closed in 2006 but portions have been reconstructed as a hotel/restaurant called "Eldorado". A new elementary school was built west of Eldorado Road between 1980-1983 by the Friends School District No 722 Committee under contract with local developer Richland Hills Schools Incorporated and opened to students on August 25th 1984 with Dr. Harry Bledsoe as Superintendent until his retirement on December 1st 2002 Jno Pemberton Elementary School has been completely rebuilt since its closure over 15 years ago!

Weddington is home to the Weddington-McDowell County Vocational Technical School. Weddington was founded in 1868 by Colonel John A. Weddington and his wife Mary C. Weddington. The couple named their new settlement after their father-in-law, General James McDowell, who had helped to founder McDowell County. The first post office was established in 1870 and the name of the town changed to Weddinton in 1876. In 1906, the school became a vocational technical school and it has remained that way ever since. The economy of Weddinton is primarily based on agriculture with some manufacturing operations also being conducted here during specific times of year like Christmas or during summer weekends when people come for vacation or work opportunities. There are also several churches located within walking distance of the town which serve as important community landmarks and religious services are always held there as well.
