Gun targets have been a part of Wake Forest history for over 100 years. The first target was erected in 1892 and it was a five-pointed star. It was located on the west side of campus. The Star Target Association was founded in 1932 and they continued to erect targets until 1978 when they were removed due to safety concerns.
