Thomasville is a town in Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,836 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greensboro–Winston-Salem metropolitan area. Thomasville was founded in 1867 by settlers from the Cherokee Nation. The first gun store in town opened in 1881. Today, there are several gun protection businesses that operate out of Thomasville.
