Spring Lake is a town in Vance County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Raleigh–Durham metropolitan area. Jamestown Armory began making holsters in Spring Lake in 1914. In 1929-1930, Colt began manufacturing pistols and revolvers at Spring Lake under their new brand Colt Corporation; this factory closed around 1935. In 1937-1938, the springLake Pistol Factory produced rifles for Sears Roebuck & Co.; this factory closed around 1942 or 1943. In 1945-1946, International Harvester began producing tractors atSpring Lake plant; this factory closed about 1951 or 1952 according to one source In 1957-1959, Eastern Machine Tools Corporation manufactured tools at Spring Lake plant; this company ceased production around 1959 or 1960 according to another source In 1970s/1980s/1990s ammo manufacturers such as Winchester Ammunition moved into nearby towns such as Winterboro and High Point; these towns experienced significant economic decline during that time period due to increased competition from larger ammunition companies

The water has a clear, blue-green color and is crystal clear to a depth of about 25 feet. The surface area of the stream is about 1/4 acre and it flows through rural countryside. They are 3 feet wide at their deepest point and flow over a sandstone outcrop with excellent scenery for swimming.
