At that time, there were several different types of targets available for use in local shootings. One of the most popular targets at that time was a white rabbit. other common targets used at local shootings were black bear and deer. One of the earliest shooters in Salisbury was John Pritchard. He began using target holders in 1813 when he started using them to shoot at game animals in his backyard. The first set of target holders (made from wood and rightsized) were used by John Pritchard and his son, James Pritchard Sr., on November 7, 1813. The second set of target holders was made by Nathaniel Bacon and first used on January 10, 1814. In 1827, George Hill purchased a land grant near United States Courthouse which became known as Old Salisbury Township. This area included present-day Salisbury Township and portions of neighboring townships including West Union and Easton. Hill sold part of this tract to Phineas Glover on December 3, 1830 for $2,000 cash plus five acres west of present-day Garnett Street which would become the nucleus around which future businesses would develop around agricultural production and hunting/fishing opportunities." Another early shooter in Salisbury was James Fenton who began using Target Holder #1 on October 1st, 1830 while shooting at game animals outside his home..target holder #2 followed suit two weeks later on October 15th . In 1836 William Aiken bought one acre along Garnett Street for $4 Liberty Bonds with the understanding that it would be dedicated to developing an agricultural market forOld Salisbury Township." After some years however Aiken decided against this idea because he found no potential investors willing to invest money into agriculture in such a isolated area." During this time period there also existed another type of target called "Atomic" devices which could only be shot with muzzleloaders or rifles loading rounds into chambered barrels through a breechloader attachment method known as an “atomic” gun conversion kit..these atomic devices could only be fired off short range due to their high destructive power." However during World War II these weapons were utilized extensively by American forces within Europe as part of Operation Overlord" targeting German military installations." After World War II target holders fell out favor among many shooters due their fragility; however they continue to be manufactured today by various companies ."

Salisbury is a city in and the county seat of Salisbury County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 12,532. The first people to live in what is now Salisbury were Native Americans. The town was founded on February 14, 1837 by Colonel George Pendleton as a trading post on Coordinated Road (now US-1). The name came from the river's salamander which could be found around the area. The town began to grow rapidly due to its strategic location at the crossroads of two important trails: one led north to Raleigh and one led south to Wilmington. In 1851, John Hance opened a general store in town and soon became known for his excellent quality goods. In 1862, General Robert Ewell's army invaded North Carolina and passed through Salisbury on their way south. When Confederate forces marched into town after the battle of Chancellorsville Bridge they discovered that Hance had not abandoned his customers and continued selling goods even though he was under siege by Union forces. By 1865, most of Salisbury had been destroyed by fire caused by Confederate bombers during shelling during the war. In 1865, when Reconstruction ended in America following the American Civil War, many southern states refused to accept black citizens as equals and several African Americans were arrested or killed while trying to leave South Carolina for Northern America. This event led directly to Bear Bryant becoming governor of Alabama in 1868 and developing plans for statehood for all southern states including those that did not secede from America. On December 15th 1870 – exactly one year after General Robert Ewell's invasion – Salisbury voted 3-to-2 in favor of joining Alabama as a separate state within it instead of being absorbed into Mississippi like other slave states which had done so same year unsuccessfully ballot recognition campaign. After years of discussion with both friends and family members living across state lines before finally voting on December 15th 1870 – despite heavy opposition from many residents who saw themselves as part of an integral community that still functioned despite secession –History has proven that Salisbury indeed voted "in" rather than "out" with independence becoming an official reality three days later when President Ulysses S Grant signed legislation making Alabama a full member state withinthe Union without any referendum required! Today much remains unchanged from when SALISBURY VOTED IN DECEMBER OF 1870 TO ENHANCE INTEGRITY OF ALABAMA WITH THEIR OWN REFERENDUM THREE DAYS LATER AFTER PRESIDENT ULYSSES S GRANT SIGNED LEGISLATION MAKING ALABAMA A FULL MEMBER STATE WITHOUT ANY REFERENDUM REQUIRED!
