The first was the Wilmington and Eastern Railroad, which connected Wilmington, North Carolina with Roanoke, Virginia. The second was the Charlotte and Henderson Railroad, which connected Charlotte, North Carolina with Hendersonville in Tennessee. The growth of Salisbury was not limited to just transportation; several businesses were built in the town during this time including an ice cream parlor and a grocery store. Salisbury is a town in Durham County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 16,561 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Durham–Cabarrus Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1792 by Col. Nathan Bedford Forrest and named for him. Salisbury's first post office opened in 1801. The town originally consisted of only two blocks on the east side of downtown and one block on the west side. In 1881, it became an incorporated municipality with a population of 20,000 people. In 1907, Salisbury voted to adopt a new government form which included both a mayor and aldermen instead of just a mayor and councilors as before. This change led to its current form as an elected township with a president, treasurer, clerk-treasurer and four members of the board of education (three men and one woman). The present day mission of the Episcopal Church in America located in Salisbury was founded by Reverend James Ewing in 1906 after he served as bishop for eight years (1896-1906) at East Liverpool—a small Methodist outpost about 12 miles northwest of Salisbury—in what was then Cherokee County, North Carolina. Bishop Ewing had come to realize that Methodism could not compete with other denominations when he moved his base from Cleveland to Raleigh; so he started looking for another home for his church when he heard about plans being made to build an Episcopal church near Salisbury by Revd Dr John Waddell who had been pastor at Iredale Chapel near Hillsboro since 1888 When finally God called me here to bebishop emeritus/designate I found myself “blessed” because my predecessor had preceded me! So there you have it: Episcopal Diocese of Winston-Salem & Chowanville now has its new home right here in our friendly little town!

One such signal was called “photons” because it consisted only of tiny particles of hydrogen gas. By 1907, physicists had figured out how to combine these signals into complete messages or pictures. They also started figuring out how to move these messages around so they could be sent over long distances without being disturbed. By 1935, scientists had developed electronic equipment which could process and send images and sounds through wires instead of just relying on physical contact like phones did then-

Salisbury is a town in western North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,826 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Alleghany County. The first European settler in what is now Salisbury was Nicholas avoidance who arrived in 1752 and built a cabin on his farmstead today's Main Street. A post office called "Allenge" was established in 1796, and by 1811 it had evolved into "Salisbury". In 1814, Salisbury residents voted to become part of the state of North Carolina. In 1865, during the American Civil War, Confederate General Robert E. Lee's army passed through Salisbury on their march from Raleigh to Montgomery. Union General Ulysses S. Grant decided not to cross the Yadkin River at that point because he knew that bridges could not be constructed over such a wide river and would likely be destroyed by Confederate forces if they did so; instead he advanced east towards Raleigh. Today, Salisbury has largely recovered from its Reconstruction-era problems which include low levels of economic development and large numbers of high school dropouts and crime rates which have been cited as among the worst in the country. The town also boasts one of America's earliest Multi- Purpose Park located on Hubbard Avenue off US 30/US 421 near downtown Salisbury
