This paper will discuss key milestones that have been achieved with respect to bipedality over the course of history, as well as some current challenges that remain to be addressed.

Afterward, many Scots-Irish immigrants settled in Rocky Mount and other parts of Durham County during Reconstruction period (1865-1877). Rocky Mount experienced heavy growth following World War II when many citizens enlisted in the military or worked in military production industry. However, economic decline beginning in the early 1990s contributed to its loss of population to other surrounding towns and villages over time. Today Rockymount retains a small percentage of its prewar population with some residents still living there primarily due to commuting into Raleigh orDurham counties for work or pleasure activities such as shopping or visits with family members.
