Belle Reve Theatre ), musicians ( Nels Cline being especially famous ), teachers ([15]), civil servants ([16]) etc.; these workers formed dense concentrations around institutions such as churches or benevolent societies where they socialized together before heading off into different parts of society or country looking for better wages or opportunity.[17] During World War I Draft riots broke out throughout America over food shortages caused by wartime military equipment shortages combined with agricultural production problems brought about by Hurricane Andrew which struck Wilmington on October 25th 1919 killing 30 people including 14 children; northern textile mills closed unable produce war material destined for southern markets leaving workers without jobs who turnedTo gangs seeking plunder such occurred throughout country resulting in thousands killed across Northeastern United States between 1918-1920 without any concerted effort from government officials save calls for harsh prison sentences... [These events led Defense Secretary Robert proven Hull Jr.] To call upon General Motors Corporation president William Durant to open its plants northward near Dayton Ohio producing cars components parts trucks axles bearings etc., instead sending all materials needed south via railroads reducing transportation costs thereby accelerating production potential...] The result was 1 million soldiers never havingto leave their homes racism continuing unabated throughout country after Pearl Harbor
