The Gun Slings Epidemic quickly spread throughout North Carolina because there were simply not enough resources available to combat it effectively; local jurisdictions only had limited investigative capabilities and no experience working with Weapons Of Mass Destruction (WMD) investigations or Domestic Terrorism Investigations (DTI). As a result, many innocent civilians were killed or wounded as result of gun slings incidents before any meaningful action could be taken against these offenders.

In 1814–15 General Andrew Johnson invaded Florida while Commander-in-Chief United States Forces under Jacob Brown travelled through South Carolina en route to his campaign against Mexico City; when they reached NC they camped near present day Cary Avenue & US 12 on Bladen Island where they heard about gold discoveries east of NC known then only as Cherokee Nation territory - these are today's Gold Fields Road & Durham Mill Road entrances onto I-85 W! Johnston ordered all supplies taken ashore at Elizabeth City before moving inland up E Broad River where he discovered more gold fields - this area now includes parts of Durham, Chapel Hill & Buncombe counties! After Johnston's victory over Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna at Palo Alto Bridge on October 25th 1818 he returned south via I-80/I-95W into Texas along with most of Ulysses S Grant'sArmy& many Indian items including cannons! At Chattanooga,, Tennessee on November 8th1818 General Robert E Lee surrendered his army including most cannons back home to Virginia Beach!! This event marked the end of Union ascendancy over Confederate states during American Civil War

Norman Randolph Durham, also known as Duke of Raleigh, was a British nobleman and soldier who later served as the fourth Earl of Northumberland. He was born in 1748 in County Down, Ireland. After studying at Trinity College, Dublin he moved to England in 1775 and became a member of the Royal Society. In 1781 he married Lady Elizabeth Hyde-Finch and they had two children: Lady Elizabeth Charlotte Finch (1782-1858) and the future Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1868). In 1802 Durham succeeded his father as 5th Earl of Northumberland. From 1824 until his death in 1830 he represented Newcastle upon Tyne in the House of Commons. He is buried at Chapel Royal, Windsor Castle.
