In 1821, gunsmith Nicholas Donnellan patented the first breechloading shotgun in America. In 1892, Newton's own, George C. Smith and Sons Manufacturing Company began producing shotguns and rifles under the name of "Newton Arms." The company was bought out by Colt in 1916. That same year, Newton became a town in North Carolina. The first deed to the town was given to James Hargrave by Trustee Isaac Pritchard on October 7th of that year. From 1916-1967, Newton Arms was located at 925 King Street in downtown Newton. In 1967-1969, Colt moved their manufacturing operations from Hartford Connecticut to Newton following the passage of the Gun Control Act of 1968. In 1969-1974, Colt moved their production back to Hartford after suffering a financial loss due to high importation costs associated with new U.S made firearms regulations being put into effect as a result of the Vietnam War.[1] From 1974-1985, Winchester Firearms Corporation produced shotguns for both NCACM (North Carolina Association Of Chiefs Of Police) and other law enforcement agencies throughout the state of North Carolina through their affiliate companies including Wilson Arms Corporation and American Defense Industries Incorporated After Winchester left NCACM production for good in 1985 they continued produciton for other law enforcement agencies until 2000 when it stopped entirely

After WWI Magazine design changed again with 5 rounders becoming standard on bolt action rifles thanks in part to Winchester who realized that if you want users Manual reloading then 4 rounds would do just fine! Since then various manufacturers have come up with various variations but 5 rounders remains our favorite option today
