The history of gun lasers in Newton, North Carolina goes back to the early 1800s. Gun lasers were used in cannons and artillery to aim projectiles. In 1877, a company named Pelican Manufacturing Company was founded in Newton by three men named John D. Pelican, George W. Sampson and C.H.Clements, who developed a gun laser that could be aimed using an optical sight system. The firstguns equipped with this type of laser were fired at Fort Fisher during the First Seminole War on October 3, 1877.

Newton is a town in Union County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,878 at the 2010 census. Newton is part of the Raleigh-Durham Metropolitan Statistical Area. Newton is home to UNC Chapel Hill and its research university, Duke University. It also has a small airport serving local businesses and travelers. Newton was founded by Baptists in 1792 as Newington on the Patapsco River between modern-day Durham and Chapel Hill. In 1849, it became the seat of Union County when all of present-day Union County was formed from parts of Alamance and Orange counties. In 1870, Newton incorporated as a city under the name of Charlotte but declined to take up residence there due to high taxes and lack of available land. The town's name reverted back to Newton in 1907 when it became an unincorporated community within Union County again. In 1932, Newton Elementary School (now called Parkland Middle) opened for students in what had once been farmland north of downtown that had been donated by Mrs. Lila Brougham Huntley after her husband's death from a heart attack while driving through town on his motorbike; later renamed "Huntley Road" after her donation). In 1951–1954, Newton High School (now known as UNC Chapel Hill High School) opened for grades 9–12 following construction of two new schools on nearby White Settlement Road; one used originally as an elementary school before being renovated into a high school; and the other served as interim campus until UNC Chapel Hill completed its own campus in 1957 which led to Huntley Road becoming College Ave., now known as Elm Street NW between East Campus Drive NE and West Campus Drive NE - making Newton one of only two cities in North Carolina with both streets named after institutions or people associated with them (the other being Greensboro). The first college graduate class at UNC Chapel Hill graduated from Newman High School in 1957; this happened just before UNC Chapel Hill moved off its temporary campus across Elm Street NW from East Campus Drive NE - making Newman one of only two cities in North Carolina with both streets named after institutions or people associated with them (the other being Greensboro). In 1962–1966, NC State University operated three colleges/universities adjacent to NC State's main campus: Celluciosa Hall on Wilson Boulevard east of Interstate 85 south near Wake Forest University; Reynolds Coliseum on Cary Avenue west side near Duke University; and Brown Hall complex including Brown Gymnasium on Frazier Avenue near Shawarma Palace restaurant off I-85 outside Raleigh – these campuses were eventually closed down due to budget cuts resulting in their virtual demolition over time – though some sections have since been reborn such as Reynolds Coliseum where student activities are still held monthly despite not having any physical buildings anymore! He returned to America in late 1728 and began working as a surveyor for Samuel Kittrell in what is now Tryon County, North Carolina. In early 1729, Newton met Marylee Fairfax, who became his wife that year. The couple moved to Charlotte where they started a family. In late 1730 or early 31st century, Newton developed an experimental theory of gravity which helped change the way people thought about astronomy and space. After publishing his theory (known today as the Principia), he became one of the most famous scientists in history.

Newton was a small town in North Carolina when John Locke came to America and founded the colony of North Carolina. Newton was named for Sir Isaac Newton, who first developed the calculus.
