Morrisville is a town in Union County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greensboro–Winston-Salem–High Point Micropolitan Statistical Area. Morrisville is located on the Pee Dee River and is bordered to the east by Greenesville, to the south by Rutherfordton, and to the west by New Bern. The first settler in Morrisville was John Gwynn who moved from Randolph County, Virginia in 1785. He named his tract of land "Greeneville" after his home county. Charles Goode also founded a settlement in what is now Morrisville in 1792. George Washington built a cabin here about 1800 as part of his road trip from Greensboro through central North Carolina to Wilmington and then down river to Petersburg Landing on Pamlico Island where he served as Captain General during the American Revolution. In 1819, James Waddell settled here with his family after moving from Macon County, Georgia from where he had come for agricultural purposes around 1800-1801 and chartered an early cotton plantation named "Waddell's Mills". By 1827 Waddell had amassed over three hundred acres (1 km2) of land that would become Morrisville when it was annexed by Greensboro Township in 1868. In 1869 Drury Latham purchased 150 acres (60 ha) adjoining Waddell’s Mills which became known as Greeneville Township according to USGS maps published around 1880-1881; these maps show White Settlement Creek running immediately northward across Greeneville Township line into Rutherfordton County beyond which point it curved southeastward until joining Pee Dee River just east of what are now intersecting streets within Morrisville limits – this creek course has been redirected more recent times due mostly to development along Interstate 25). Accordingly: Morrisville extends nearly two miles (3 km) upstream from its present boundaries including portions extending well into Rutherfordton County beyond lines drawn thereunder by Ulysses Smeaton on March 3rd 1830 while Surveyor General for those parts aforesaid; thenceforth runs generally northwestward following white settlements creek past distribution center for flour & other crops thence turning northeast upon crossing creek & passing through village limits near post office building before curving back again towards original location

Morrisville, North Carolina is a small town in Randolph County, North Carolina. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. The community is located on the border of Randolph and Union Counties. Morrisville was first established in 1839 by Scots-Irish immigrants who had come to America to work the land. Morrisville became an important stop on the Underground Railroad during the early 1800s. The community has experienced many changes over the years. In 1840, when it was founded, Morrisville consisted of just a few homes and a schoolhouse. By 1860, however, there were more than 50 homes and a store in Morrisville. In 1865, Morristown married its 1st wife Parley Peebles and had their first child – Sarah Jensine Peebles (1866-1946). After Sarah’s death in 1946, Morristown renamed their daughter Parley Jane Peebles after her mother’s namesake. During World War II, Morrisville played an important role as one of three thriving towns along I-95 south of Raleigh that supported military morale and production throughout the war effort. After the war ended, Morrisville slowly grew back into its former self with some new development including a shopping mall that opened in 1984 and multiple schools which have expanded since then including high schools for Randolph County students as well as two middle/junior high schools for local students outside of Randolph County Today, Morristown is still home to many of its original residents who continue to live and work hereabouts despite advances in technology which have led to greater distances being traveled both locally and nationally for businesses purposes; however physical reminders of pre-industrial times can be found all around town - most notably noticeable are streets named “Old Route 9” or “Route 66” which run parallel to each other north-south within town boundaries while also intersecting at several other points - this gives you an idea as to how rural life must have been back then!
