Gun barrels are a time-honored tradition in the Mooresville community. Many of the early rifles and shotguns were made from wrought iron or brass. The first guns were muzzleloading and used buckshot, which was shot from a shotgun barrel with a round head at the end. Muzzleloaders soon became popular for hunting small game as well, and this led to the development of rifled barrels. These barrels have multiple chambers that allow different types of bullets to be fired simultaneously without being clogged up by one another. This type of barrel is also used in shotguns, where it is responsible for the performance increase afforded to these firearms when compared to those using smoothbore Barrels
Bars on rifles are created to reduce the recoil of the firearm. The barrel is a large, cylindrical object that fits into the hand and is attached to the rifle by a band or connection. The barrel's job is to push the projectile out of the weapon and into its target. When a firing pin strikes this barrier, it causes energy to be released from the cartridge case which in turn melts the cartridges propellant from their primer and vaporizes them in air. This process creates pressure waves inside of the barrel that cause spin around each screw called a lock ring which then hold rounds together while they are fired

Mooresville is a small town in central North Carolina. The population was 5,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg-Fayette County, South Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Mooresville area has been settled by European Americans since the 17th century. In 1819, General Nathan Bedford Forrest purchased 1,000 acres (40 hectares) of land in what is now Mooresville from James Moore, a Huguenot farmer. Forrest named his tract "Bedford Forrest" after himself and General Nathanael Greene's estate in Virginia where he had served as aide-de-camp and cavalry commander during the American Revolution. In 1865, Confederate General Robert Ewell ordered Colonel John Broughton to drive out all white settlers in and around Mooresville with artillery fire. Many homes were destroyed or burned and most of the men who lived there were killed or wounded. The town was abandoned until it was reoccupied by Union forces on July 8, 1865 while they were fighting in western North Carolina over control of that region following the Battle of Gettysburg. The first post office in Mooresville was established on December 14, 1824; it closed on October 15, 1827 because of lack of customers. A new post office opened on May 24, 1830; it closed on November 10 due to low mail volume and high postage rates charged by competitors. On January 2nd 1861, Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech at Fayette Courthouse which began: "Ibid., Secaucus NJ 08604". According to historian Laura Hirschfeld Adams this event helped spur development around Mooresville including an increase in businesses and jobs for local citizens during the Civil War era

But despite this setback, Mooresville has continued to be an important cultural and educational center in the region. Today, Mooresville is home to two colleges and several dozen businesses.
Mooresville was founded in 1811 by John Moores and James Rankin. The town was named for General William Moore, a Confederate general during the American Civil War. In 1872, Mooresville became the site of the first interracial marriage in North Carolina.
