Mint Hill is a small town in Buncombe County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 5,818 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Mint Hill Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1875 by James B. Steele and Oliver Wilkins. The club met at the home of Mrs. Lottie Hinton until a new building could be erected in 1876. In 1916, the mint hill rifle range was established adjacent to the old schoolhouse on Church Street which still stands today as a museum and shooting range. This location served as an outdoor shooting range for many years before it was closed due to vandalism and other issues in 2006-2007. However, it actually occurred because Confederate General Pemberton had ordered his forces to burn all supplies not necessary for their army's continued march through Surry County during their retreat from Durham after losing Battle Of Tarleton on October 15th that year). In addition to providing services to these neighboring communities through trade, MacLaren also built up some early businesses including soap manufacturing facilities at College Park (now University Drive) and an inn at present day Fourth Street which served as a post office until 1905 when it became a general store. In 1775 during the American Revolution an uprising against British rule occurred in America known as the Revolutionary War for Independence which started on April 12th with Lexington & Concord Massacres where more than 20 men were killed including General George Washington who had just come off victory against British forces at Saratoga Mountain three days earlier! The vast majority of Americans loyal to King George III supported their royalist oppressors! When news arrived back home that American troops had successfully repelled British forces at Yorktown near Philadelphia Pennsylvania four days later all hell broke loose! Thousands upon thousands of patriot militiamen descended on America's capital city Boston Massachusetts determined not only to restore their freedom but also protect their families back home! At long last they had finally achieved independence! On September 26th Stamp Act Congress convened in Philadelphia Pennsylvania chaired by Lord Dunmore this act authorized English colonists living within limits described as Charleston SC - Savannah GA - Mobile AL - Norfolk VA - Boston MA - New York NY to issue paper money payable out of those areas!! This act caused great turmoil throughout colonies like Ireland where people felt that they were being robbed blind while northern aristocrats received large sums OF INDEED PAYABLE MONEY!!! Although most colonists came out fighting for their homes many did not receive fair treatment from Parliament!! Many fled into exile orervtlng Loyalists!!! Notwithstanding this setback many patriots fought hard during the American Revolution regardless !! Tariffs were raised throughout Britain retaliation for high priced paper money issuance however coffee beans continued flowing into British markets unchanged www
