Mint Hill is a census-designated place (CDP) in Randolph County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,829 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Greensboro–Winston-Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. Mint Hill is located on U.S. Route 421 and it borders South Mountain to the south and east, Rocky Mount to the north, and Hickory Grove to the west. The first settlement in what would become Mint Hill was made by Methodist missionaries in 1796 when they founded a small town called "Trenton" near today's Rocky Mount. In 1810, settlers from Georgia began moving into Randolph County and soon minted their own currency which they named "Georgia dollars." In 1814, James Waddell built a small cabin on an old mill pond that he donated to Randolph County for use as a courthouse and jail. Waddell renamed his community "Mint Hill" after his home state of Virginia where he had been born in 1781. The first post office opened in 1816 under the name of "Randolphville." Waddell also donated land fora cemetery which still exists today and which includes some of America's largest mausoleums including that of President George Washington and First Lady Martha Washington. In 1825, Andrew Jackson moved from Tennessee to live at Mint Hill with his family after being elected president that year; he spent summers there while attending law school in Nashville). A smallpox epidemic hit Randolph County in 1830 killed more than 100 people including many who lived near Mint Hill due to cross infection from other parts of the county between then and now known as “the great mad cow pandemic” because so many animals died from this disease). After years of lobbying by farmers around regional spa towns such as Asheville (population 575), Raleigh (population 2,500) and Chapel Hill (population 507), America's first public health department was organized on December 12th1835 with Drs John Coots Mason & Dr David Starr Jordan under direction of Surgeon General Milburn – later Assistant Secretary of War Ulysses S Grant – within weeks of its creation at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church just outside Raleigh.(UCSD Hopper Collection) This new department became known as “Nashville Public Health Department” or “NHD” for short.) In 1969, another company named H&R produced their own gun cleaning kit which Included everything necessary to clean firearms including a plunger-brush system with soap solution and water bottle. This Kit was primarily used by hunters and outdoorsmen who were responsible for maintaining their rifles in good condition outside of competition or shooting competitions. In 1984, yet another company named Savage introduced their own Gun Cleaning Kits which Included all of the necessary items needed to clean handguns such as brushes (with or without bristles), suds cups (for rinsing off rounds), detergent (for removing corrosion) and towels/soap blocks (to prevent fouling). These kits were sold directly through sporting goods stores or along with other firearm products like ammunition

Mint Hill is a small town in North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,052 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg metropolitan area. Mint Hill is known for its historic homes and gardens, as well as its annual Christmas market. Mint Hill began as a small farming community in 1837 on what is now the corner of High and Union Streets in eastern Charlotte. The original settlers were African Americans who had come to work on plantations near Charlotte. They named their community after the English city of London, where they had been brought before arriving in North Carolina. The first settler in Mint Hill was John Motley, who arrived with his family from England in 1837. He built a log cabin on land that he and his wife granted to their slaves, James and Fanny Motley. James worked at Motley's farm while Fanny took care of the children and homebound mother. In 1840, when Mint Hill became a post office parish under jurisdiction of Charlotte Ward Parish, motley donated additional land for the new settlement which he named after himself—Mint Hill Township or "Hill Country." In 1861, following Confederate victory over Union forces at Bull Run Mountain outside Richmond Virginia (the largest battlefield of the American Civil War), Confederate General Jens Ludwig ordered all black men between twelve years old and sixty years old to leave South Carolina for good and go north into North Carolina where they would be used as laborers on white farms until such time as they could reestablish themselves politically within white society through marriage or birth control measures guaranteed by both parties during Reconstruction times thereafter...This order caused great indignation among many black men because it meant that they would no longer have any civil rights whatsoever within their own state... Consequently,...many blacks left South Carolina for what must have seemed an uncertain future back home; however, most did not head northeast towards Raleigh but instead drove south into newly created North Carolina Territory specifically designated for them called "Minthill" since it appeared that there would be little chance of achieving political parity with whites within that territory... Although some black men did cross state lines searching for passage back to their homelands (eastern Tennessee being one example), most respondents indicate that they never reached Minthill other than passing through on occasion while traveling downriver along [the] Catawba River which flows through our town today." After living there only four years due to lack of space he sold his lot back to Josephine Hutton two years later in 1843 She also founded Hutton School which still stands today across from Greeting Hall park currently used by Randolph-Hutton Elementary School students grades PK-8th grade Many things started happening here soon afterwards like local women starting businesses around this time like Green Gables Bus Line run byMrs Price started running buses from her house directly to school every morning before school every day! This helped get kids off streets/away from gangs etc.... along with Mrs Price running her church too which helps explain why mint hill has so many churches nearby now ;)
