Mint Hill is a small town in Henderson County, North Carolina, United States. It was founded in 1868 by Scots-Irish settlers from the area that would become Raleigh. The population of Mint Hill was 1,451 as of the 2010 census. The first airguns were brought to Mint Hill by local gunsmiths in 1885. Early guns were developed using parts manufactured locally and used practice ammunition bought from local farmers. In 1889, coin-operated pistols were introduced to the community and became very popular until 1906 when they were discontinued due to prohibition (the first amendment to the United States Constitution). In 1911, an airgun club was formed in Mint Hill and began meeting monthly at the old post office. By 1915, there were over twenty airgun clubs throughout America organized under various names including "The International Air Gun Club". In 1932, a newPost Office building was built on Main Street opposite US Highway 411 which served as an airgun range for many years before it closed in 1973. The building still stands today and is used as a museum for mint hill residents and visitors.

Mint Hill is one of two towns located within the Granville Mills shopping center on I-85 between Raleigh and Durham. The other town is Pemberton. The first settler to arrive in what would become Mint Hill was John Hance, who settled on a farm near present-day Middlebrook Drive and US Highway 276 about 1836. He named his farm "Hance's Mill" after his father-in-law, James Hance (1768–1848). In 1839, Nathaniel Bedingfield started a mill on the same site which he operated until it burned down in 1863. Some time before that, landowner James Smith donated lots for development around the current intersection of Middlebrook Drive and US Highway 276 (now known as East Main Street). By 1860, there were 10 white households and 3 black households living in Mint Hill; by 1870 there were 20 white households and 5 black households living in Mint Hill; by 1880 there were 30 white households and 10 black dwellings living in Mint Hill; by 1890 there were 40 white households and 15 black dwellings living in Mint Hill. In 1871, MintHill had its own post office which opened with mail from Rutherford County east to High Point. In 1872, Postmaster General Amos Kendall appointed Aimee Ladd as the first female postmaster general for North Carolina when she took over from her husband Amos Kendall (1811–1892). Ladd served until 1895 when she left for Tennessee to be an administrator for Knoxville’s new postal service under Governor Lamar Alexander (1840–1925). She later returned to North Carolina as executive agent for Knoxville’s new postal service under Governor Blair Stevenson (1927–1981). At that time it became known as Southern Rural Service Corporation with headquarters at 601 N Tryon St., Suite 202B – now occupied by Bank of America Corporate Headquarters. From 1941 until 1971 it was known as Southern Mail Services Corporation with its main office at 601 W Trade St., Suite 410A – now occupied by Allied Signal Company Headquaters.. In 1971 Southern Rural Service Corporation merged into Social Security Administration while 601 N Tryon St., Suite 202B remained unoccupied through 1981 when it became Bank of America Corporate Headquarters before being sold to JLL Realty Trust LLC during 2004 redevelopment of Southbank Center mall across I-85 from Bank of America Corporate Headquarters.. 602 W Trade St., Suite 410A was vacated during 2006 renovation project relocating tenants including JLL Realty Trust LLC.. 602 W Trade St., suite 410A has been vacant since then however currently used as ground floor retail space adjacent to Southbank Center mall.. Today just five blocks away from where mint hill once stood stands another large city - Raleigh - making this community both unique and valuable amidst all those big box stores!

During World War II, America needed new ways to fight the war and find new sources of energy for their weapons systems. One way that they did this was by developing new types of aircraft which used fuel cells to power themselvesinstead of gasoline engines. This new technology allowed America to stay victorious during World War II without having to resort to weapons like warships or bombers

By 1907, all types of airguns were being built in significant quantities, with more than 20 different models on the market.
