Over the next several decades, Lincolnton continued to grow in stature as an important cultural and educational center in eastern North Carolina. Its institutions served as models for other towns throughout the state by developing innovative programming that helped promote literacy and understanding among regional residents. In recent years, though some challenges remain, Lincolnton has emerged as one of eastern North Carolina's most vibrant communities – a proud embodiment of its history and culture along with its commitment to neighborliness and diversity.
