In 1820, Nicholas-Jacques Conte designed and constructed the first binoculars in Lincolnton. The lenses were made of a clear glass with achromatic lenses that could be focused to within 1/4 inch. By 1830, a company named Coulter had been established in Lincolnton to sell these new binoculars. In 1876, American inventor Cyrus McCormick developed a mechanical system for producing false images using Binoculars by adjusting an eyepiece on the front of the instrument. This innovation allowed people to see objects at great distances without having to wear sunglasses or other corrective devices. In 1903, the first true telescopic lens was produced with a focal length of 100 feet and it became possible for people to view objects up close without having to put away their binoculars. With this technological advance, binoculars became one of the most popular consumer items in America!

Lincolnton is a small town in North Carolina, United States. The population was 5,027 at the 2010 census. Lincolnton is located in Dare County. It is part of the Charlotte–Mecklenburg, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by Reverend John Newton and his family in 1768 on the edge of what is now Lincolnton Township. Newton named the township for himself, after his home parish in Lancashire, England. The first store and post office were established in 1836. In 1851, a school was built and opened to students from surrounding townships. A sawmill was started by Levi Coffin in 1858; it continued until 1865 when it closed because of economic reasons. In 1870, land adjacent to present-day Lincolnton Township was surveyed for farming purposes and became known as White Settlement Township (later called Blacksett). Mine owners began extracting coal mines near present-day Red Clay Creek and soon there were two businesses conducting business within Lincolnton: one run by Amos Frazier (a white man) that produced breads and flour while another ran by Ebenezer Cobb (a black man) that processed milk and eggs into products such as butter and eggs. Coal mining operations expanded rapidly following World War I with new found methods such as open air mining which increased production rates while reducing health hazards; however due to environmental concerns these operations ended around the turn of the century when pollution controls became more prevalent throughout North America The post office served Lincolnton until 1959 when its successor, Macon Post Office #521, opened at 301 High Street East . In 1960 an addition to the high school building was added which served as an annexe to serve both schools until 1984 when they merged into Blacksett High School . On May 1st 1958 Macon had its own commercial airport serving all neighboring communities with private jets utilizing fields south of town accessible only through unmarked roads leading back into town From 1948-2009 there also existed a daycare center operated by Mrs Virgil Pritchett located on Main Street across from Hartsville Methodist Church . This facility drew many parents who chose not to drive far out of their way for daycare services As recently as 1990 white supremacists held a rally outside the local high school during which they burnt down some trees

Lincolnton is a town in western North Carolina, United States. The population was 9,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1828 by Scotsmen who had come to North Carolina from Perthshire, Scotland. Lincolnton grew up along the Yadkin River and got its start as a small cotton plantation. In 1839, Colonel James J. Fenton set out from Lincolnton with 1,500 troops to overthrow Edmund Cranch Johnston, an American military general who had taken control of parts of central North Carolina following the Battle of New Bern (1836). Johnston was defeated at the Battle of Greeneville on December 8 and fled into southern Tennessee before being captured by Fenton's forces two days later. Fenton decided to move his camp northward rather than fight Johnston and sent messengers back south to tell his men that he would not let them be destroyed or captured if they surrendered. A large force under General John Harnett arrived at Lincolnton on December 12 and after clashes with Fenton's troops marched them into town where they were allowed to sleep in peace while their general faced trial for treason. On January 6, 1837, after three months of fighting and suffering over 500 casualties including 40 officers/soldiers killed and another 120 wounded, Johnston was finally defeated at the Battle ofaddisonville near Elizabeth City when a combined force led by Lieutenant Colonel David Catlett advanced on him from behind without waiting for orders; Catlett then cut off Johnston's retreat across a creek which forced him onto his knees and surrendered unconditionally surrounded by his own troops
Lincolnton is located in the eastern part of North Carolina, on the Watauga River. The town was founded by English colonists in 1735 and grew rapidly during the 18th century. Lincolnton became a principal city in the state during the early 19th century and experienced significant growth thereafter. In 1860, Lincolnton was renamed for Rutherford B. Hayes, who served as U.S. president from 1876 to 1880.
