Lewisville is a small town in North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,611. It lies about 26 miles (41 km) northeast of Raleigh and 12 miles (19 km) southwest of Charlotte. Lewisville has a mix of African Americans and whites, as well as Hispanics and Asians. The white men who bought or inherited these slaves worked them until they died or were freed by Act 13 of 1829 which allowed white men to purchase black men without having to go through slaveholders' permission. The first store in Lewisville was opened by David Pinson in 1824. At that time there were only six businesses in the entire township with over fifty residents! In 1830 some Scotch-Irish settlers arrived from County Clare and started farming around what is now downtown Lewisville along with other settlement areas near Mount Airy Chapel Road . These farmers soon realized that they could not grow food on this land so they began to build sawmills which became very important for this area during the early 19th century because it was necessary for mills manufactured goods such as hoes, sickles, looms etcetera

Lewisville is a small town in Wake County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. Lewisville is located on the banks of Nantahala River. It was named for General and Mrs. Lewis (1793-1868), who donated land to the town and helped to build it in 1819. The first settlers in what is now Lewisville were men from Scotland who had emigrated to North Carolina in 1796. They built a log cabin on the site of today's Lewisville High School around 1800. A post office called Lewisville was established in 1819, and remained in operation until 1865. In 1891, an forces used by Confederate general Robert Easley during the Battle of Franklin led by Rear Admiral John Farragut burned down part of downtown Lewisville while Cavalry Lieutenant Colonel James Hance commanded them. The burning destroyed many homes and businesses, including those of General Amos Kendall and his wife Lucy; however, no one was killed or injured as a result of the fire. In 1905, local farmers formed the Agricultural Society to improve farming methods and raise livestock; this society still exists today as Local 4231 United Dairymen’s Association Incorporated (L4231UDA). Since its creation as a community, Lewisville has undergone numerous name changes: from "Hamlet" to "Wake County", from "Nantahala" Valley" to "Lewisvillle". The current name comes from General Lewis' donation which included land for development east of where he lived on Cano Hill Road near present day Bankhead Elementary School - thus becoming Lewiston = Townsite +Hill + Village = PlaceName In 1911 when Waco Baptist Church moved into new facilities across town from original L4231UDA building several members voted not to keep their old church building due to its historic value but instead naming their new church after General Lewis himself – thus becoming Lewiston Baptist Church (later Waco Methodist Episcopal) with only slight change over time! As such most notable events associated with that congregation occurred during their stay rather than afterwards!
