Kings Mountain is a small town in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. It is located on the border of Pisgah National Forest and Gaston County, and has a population of around 350 people. The town was first settled in 1847 by refugees from the revolution in Europe. In 1912, Kings Mountain became part of Gaston County when it was formed from portions of Randolph County. In 1954, Kings Mountain was incorporated as a city. One of the earliest firearmscases made in Kings mountain was a lever-action rifle case that was created by A.C. Robbins & Sons Company in 1913. This rifle case held five rounds and had an overall length of about 43 inches (1068 mm). The rifle case was designed to be carried on one's person and its design featured an unusual handle with two levers that could be manipulated to open or close the case lid. The rifle case also had straps across the top to hold it together while being transported. The Robbins & Sons Company Rifle Case company continued making rifles cases until 1969. However, this company's legacy lives on through another firearm manufacturing company that used their designs - Browning Firearms Manufacturing - which continues to make cases today! After Pittsylvania County was formed from parts of Fayette and Wake counties in 1813, Kings Mountain became part of Pittsylvania County. In 1828, when Johnston's army invaded North Carolina, the inhabitants made their way to Charlotte to surrender. At the Battle of Mill Springs on October 15,1828, Johnston's army lost 9 men killed and 34 wounded before being driven back into Georgia. A portion of Kings Mountain was burned during the battle. The community name "Kings" may have been given because it had been granted land by King George II foruka who founded what is now Winston-Salem. In 1861, during the American Civil War, Confederate General Robert Ewell collected supplies at Kings mountain and set off downriver to attack Union forces under General Ulysses S Grant at the Battle of Gettysburg. Ewell's forces reached Grants' position just beyond Summit Lake before being turned back by Union troops under General Winfield Scott over time-consuming marches upriver to Cemetery Hill where they finally took up quarters on July 3rd 1865 At this point things got messy as Confederate forces continued raids against Union positions along both sides of the river until April 1865 when alledgedly surrendered units surrendered without firing a shot or providing any resistance when cavalry approached from behind

The area around Kings Mountain was first settled by Scots-Irish immigrants in 1795 and they named their settlement after King George II of Great Britain who had been executed in 1746 for treason. In 1819, General Andrew Jackson's army destroyed a Bureau of Refugees and Freedmen camp on the mountain and this event became known as the Battle of Kings Mountain. In 1861, Confederate forces under General Robert E. Lee attacked Union troops stationed at Kings Mountain but were repulsed with heavy losses. The battle marked the end of six years of fighting between Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War. Aftermath from what was seen as one Of The bloodiest battles ever fought ensued which cost over 600 dead including 58 Americans lost at King's Mtn., making it one of America’s deadliest conflicts ever fought
