Deputy Sheriff's Office No. 3 initially functioned as a substation for SO1 but soon became their own separate unit responsible for patrolling all portions of rural Hunterdon County outside the city limits! The early 20th century saw HUNTERVILLE become one of America’s leading firearm manufacturing centers! Many famous rifle manufacturers such as Winchester & Savage set up shop here during this time period; production peaked at nearly 400 shotguns per month in 1929! However, World War II interrupted these prosperous times and gun production slumped significantly after hostilities ended in 1945! Afterward,Huntervillegrew back into prosperity thanks largely to several large gifts from individual citizens – including $5 million from industrialist Marvin Koppelman – which made possible resumedgun production throughout 1949-1953 inclusive! In 1957 however Turner Broadcasting System acquired WECT-TV Channel 11 which changed both media landscape within Huntervillege as well as overall influence within North Carolina politics… Consequently making effective use “the power broker” type relationships among politicos became evermore necessary for successful legislatively enacted changes/ progression thru difficult Legislative Session(eg Appropriations Bill) !!

The first settler in what is now Huntersville was John Robertson, who arrived in 1781. In 1819, a post office called "Huntersville" was established and remained in operation until 1865. The town was originally built on low hills near the present-day intersection of US-1 and NC-7. By 1830, the town had grown to include a large square block and several small buildings. In 1836, the first courthouse and jail were erected on what is now Main Street. By 1840, most of present day Huntersville had been developed with homes, stores, and mills. A grist mill was built at what is now Prospect Road about this time and became one of the largest flour mills in North Carolina. In 1847, a sawmill (later renamed a power plant) was built on what is now Main Street near where Interstate 85 meets NC-7. It became one of the most important industrial facilities in southeastern North Carolina for many years thanks to its ability to produce high quality lumber from local trees.
