In the early 1800s, Huntersville was a thriving community located in what is now Durham County, North Carolina. It was home to a small but influential group of gunrunners and hunters who continued to trade firearms and use them for hunting purposes until the late 1800s. The first recorded mention of Huntersville comes from a deed dated April 8, 1736, which states that James Sellers purchased land in the town from John Rutherford. The town’s name was derived from the two-word motto “Huntersvile.” By 1820, Huntersville had more than 1100 residents and had developed into an important center for rural north Carolina firearm trading. During the Revolutionary War, several local men guerrillaized against British forces by robbing and destroying British military stores and encampments. One such individual was Gabriel Harrison, who operated out of Huntersville during the war. Harrison is also notable for being one of the first people to own a musket as an individual weapon in North Carolina. At some point before his death in 1794, he donated his musket collection (now housed at Duke University) to Huntingdon College in Durham, NC. By 1830, Hunter ville had become established as a prosperous community thanks to its location on Roanoke Island and its growing membership of gunrunners and hunters who used it as their base of operations for trafficking firearms throughout much of southcentral North Carolina. In 1837-38, when General Woodford pushed through amendments establishing state police forces within each county in order to reduce crime rates within certain areas of the state, Hunter ville played an integral role in providing law enforcement service within its borders. As new technologies like photography became available during this time period – including photography guns – Hunter ville began to rapidly join other communities across eastern North Carolina in becoming well-known foci for shooting game trophies during this period. In 1860-61 alone, Huntersville participated in more than 20 rifle matches sanctioned by Confederate authorities between Unionists and pro-Unionist parties taking place throughout central North Carolina; many of these events were held at various militaries posts across eastern Tennessee and western Virginia specifically so that Confederate troops could compete with one another in shooting unarmed Federals alongside Native American warriors illegally captured during those hostilities

Huntersville is a city in eastern North Carolina, United States. The population was 20,432 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Currituck County. Huntsville is located on the Appomattox River and according to Forbes has been described as "the second most educated city in America." The first settlers in what would become Huntersville were farmers who arrived around 1785. By 1802, there were nine families living in the town. In 1826, the name of the town was changed from New Vernon to Huntersville because of its location on Hunting Creek. The first post office was established in 1827 and it functioned until 1860. In 1865, hunters discovered bear meat near what would become Huntsville and began selling it to local merchants for use in food shortages across the South during Reconstruction. This early discovery helped make Huntsville an important commercial center during this time period and helped contribute to its growth over subsequent decades. In 1978, huntersvillians voted to add a third street into their downtown area which became known as Market Street after then-Mayor Harry Coleman dedicated that section of Market Street as part of their revitalization efforts. Today,Market Street remains one of downtown's main pedestrian thoroughfares with many businesses located along its length including several restaurants and small shops totaling over 100 businesses throughout six blocks long! During World War II, HuntstsVILLE played an important role in both military and civilian life by providing goods and services needed by Allied forces stationed abroad. One such example was when General George Custer's horsehide coat came through town on its way back from army service; allowing locals to buy large quantities at bargain prices! The city even erected a large Victory Column honoring those who made contributions during World War II outside City Hall property - an event still celebrated today! Today, HuntsVILLE continues to be a center for education with numerous institutions of higher learning located within easy reach including four universities: UNC School of Medicine (Medicine School Campus), University Presses (School of Journalism & Mass Communication), Davidson College (College of Liberal Arts) and Cumberland University (Graduate School). Additionally, several technology startups have been founded or are currently active within downtown vicinity including Blue Origin LLC., Pivotal Labs Inc., NCR Corporation., iHeartRadio Holdings Inc.,[1] [2] [3]and Cumulus Media Networks.[4][5] Downtown also sees regular live music events taking place such as Artfestivals,[6][7][8][9] DogTown fete,[10], SONIC'S STRINGS[11], BBQ & Brews Festival,[12],[13],[14],[15], NC State Fairgrounds Showcase,[16](NC State Fairgrounds)[17]), NCSoftball Tournament (@NCSoftballTC), Harvest Moon Festival,[18],[19](Halloween Celebration)[20]) among many more!!!

From 1955 until 1990, Huntersville was served by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Authority (CMA), which oversaw all municipal government within Charlotte suburbia. After CMA's dissolution, Huntervillians placed their hope for revitalizationin plans for their own municipality that ultimately failed Nevertheless, Huntervillians continue to make an impact on their community through local organizations such as Hometown Harvest Festival and Bluegrass Arts & Crafts Festival

Huntersville was founded in 1771 byWilliam Alexander Cumming and his family. The town was named after King George II of England, who granted it land in 1772. In 1847, the village of Huntersville became a separate incorporated town when the State of North Carolina passed an act creating municipal boundaries. The population of Huntersville peaked at over 10,000 people in 1935, but has since declined due to manufacturing relocation and other factors.
