Huntersville is a town located in Stanly County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 5,481 at the 2010 census. It lies on the eastern border of Stanly County and is part of the Greensboro–High Point Metropolitan Statistical Area. A post office called Huntersville was established in 1868, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1932. The name honors Generalobert H. Hunter, an American Revolutionary War general and governor of North Carolina from 1785 to 1789. The first white settler in what is now Huntersville was James Sutherlin who arrived there from Virginia in 1827. He built a cabin near present-day downtown on the banks of the Yadkin River. In 1828 Sutherlin's son John moved to what is now town square and began to cultivating land around his cabin which he named "Huntersville". By 1830 all of Huntingdon Creek had been surveyed and platted into townships withJames Sutherlin as their first mayor. In 1832 Daniel Boone came through central North Carolina on his way southward to explore new country and discovered new hunting grounds for deer that would later become known as Roanoke Valley. He stopped at what is now Huntersville en route and made his home here for a time before continuing on his journey westward across South America towards Buenos Aires (now Argentina). Upon his return trip he journeyed up Yadkin River valley where he found evidence of human habitation dating back over 10,000 years ago including shell mounds dating back more than 12,000 years old! Soon after this discovery Boone started calling this area "the Valley of the Kings" because he believed that these ancient people were responsible for building some of America's earliest churches – the most famous being Fort Nashborough (later Chapel Hill) – which are still standing today! He also note several prehistoric archeological sites near modern-day Huntersville including one known as Meadowcroft which contains numerous artifacts dating back to 4500 BC! These finds became so important to archaeologists that they eventually traveled downriver all the way to Raleigh where they published their findings in a book entitled "Ancient North Carolina" which remains one of the most popular books ever written about North Carolina history! In 1865 while campaigning for election as President Lincoln visited Chapel Hill during his campaign stopover here and upon returning home wrote: "…I passed through [Meadowcroft]…It has long been my ambition to see it again; I cannot help feeling that I should be able to make its visit more perfect by erecting there a statue or bust representing me." This idea never materialized however due to lack funding but did lead him later authoritatively say that"…the Foundation has prepared an excellent model for such a work" . After becoming president Lincoln issued Executive Order 9609 creating certain commissions within Civil Service Reform Administration headed by himself with particular jurisdiction over appointments within local governments including those dealing with education, law enforcement etc.. One such commission created specifically for education included Mr Henry Clay Frick who played an important role later destroying public schools throughout Tennessee via forced busing programs ! After leaving office Frick donated much of his private fortune toward building two large elementary/junior high schools adjacent each other at what is now University Park Elementary School & Houseman Middle School across from UNC Chapel Hill!! This project ultimately failed but led directly to enactment by Congress of The No Child Left Behind Act which caused many similar failures all throughout our nation !! When finished construction finally began nearly 50 years later culminating with opening day in 2009 !! What began as just another small community quickly grew into one of North Carolina's fastest growing cities Comprehensive city planning approach resulted USGNCP having total authority over 2 million citizens making Huntervillage one comprehensive city wide services management system

They used a burning tablet to fire small pellets of lead or wax from a tube. These guns were very inaccurate and were not very common. The Rifleman magazine reported in 1907 that there had been “a hundred years” since any gunsmith had made an airgun with more than three rounds per minute, let alone one that could be fired continuously. In 1911, John Browning designed the first successful air rifle and began making them commercially, although they were much less accurate than firearms using combustible powder cartridges. By 1926, over ninety percent of all rifles manufactured worldwide were fitted with breech-loading airguns. However, even these early models had some limitations: they could only fire one round at a time, they required a large cartridge case (usually shot glasses), and they produced noxious gas when firing which made them especially dangerous to children and other unsuspecting bystanders.

Today, Huntsville remains an important community with its several cultural attractions including its annual arts festival and numerous libraries and museums.
In 1730, the Catawba Indians moved from North Carolina to what is now Huntersville. In 1786, John Sevier founded a post office in the area. The town was first known as Sevier's Mills. It was renamed Huntersville in 1855 when Dr. J.D. Meredith donated land to the town for a courthouse and school district.
