These holders often included integral arms that could be pivoted so they could rotate into any desired position to accommodate different type telescope optics while providing stable mounting utilizing quick release mechanisms within seconds without having to remove the entire scope from its holder! In 1951, NC State University purchased a Waddell Mount equipped with an Ocuetron Red Dot sight system for their observatory located on(then)Mount Wilson! This purchase marked the beginning of an expensive but ultimately successful effort by NC State University to increase their astronomic capabilities through research efforts as well as practical applications such as improved observing conditions indoors during winter months when other institutions' observatories were closed due to ice accumulation! By 1964, all university owned scopes had been replaced by Ocuetron Red Dot sights!
