In 1990 high school students founded their own student government organization which still exists today as UNCHCHD/HIGH POINT SCHOOL BOARD OF GOVERNMENT (HPSB). In 2003 HPSB members organized a boycott of then-new Duke University lacrosse coach Mike McQueary over his apparent sexual assault of team member April Leak during a party game; this led to Duke's eventual expulsion from UNC basketball .
