Hickory is a small town in western North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,591 at the 2010 census. Hickory is part of the Hickory-Lenoir-Millsboro micropolitan area. It is located on the eastern edge of Chapel Hill-Carrboro and west of Raleigh. The first settlers in what is now Hickory were men from Scotland who came to this area in 1792. They built a log cabin on the present site of Hickory High School in 1807. A post office was established here in 1813, and later moved to its current location on Main Street. In 1830, John Coots founded a sawmill at the mouth of West Creek which became one of the leading mills in central North Carolina. Coots also developed a large agricultural estate near Hickory that included land for growing cotton and other crops. By 1840, there were over 100 farmers living in and around Hickory with some 10 miles (16 km) of track linking their farms to local markets. In 1845, Colonel John Boon established Trinity College at what is now UNC Asheville as an open-air educational institution serving students from all over North Carolina and neighboring states including South Carolina and Georgia. After years of struggle by opponents within his own community who felt that Trinity should have been closer to downtown Chapel Hill or be chartered as an university like Durham or Wake Forest rather than outside such a small town, Boon prevailed over anti-establishment sentiment and set up shop inside Trinity College buildings until his death in 1852. In 1865, Confederate General Robert Ewell made his headquarters here before retreating back up Upper Broad Street into northern Raleigh after losing Battle Of Pickens County Bridge across Lake Lenoir against Union forces under George McClellan Morehead Jr.. On July 12th 1865 Confederate General Jubal Early arrived at Trinity College seeking advice about turning Overland Movement forces against General Sherman's army marching northward through Tennessee under Ulysses S Grant advancing towards Chattanooga during the Overland Campaign... early reports suggest that Early had no idea what he was doing when he arrived; however upon further inspection it appears that he may have been led by someone associated with University Chancellor James Hogg... When Early found out that Hogg opposed him he allegedly sent messengers direcly to UNC Asheville asking him not to allow Early into college because “he would soon become dangerous” On October 15th 1865 while parked behind faculty car lot on campus waiting for classes to begin Colfax Ave crashed headlong into building killing 4 people & injuring many more - still today one of Hickory's most notorious tragedies In 1865 two brothers named Jesse & David Carr ran an inn called The Gentry Inn on Pumpkinvine Road just east off Highway 421 near where Slaughter Road crosses I-85 today (David Carr died suddenly young). This inn became known for being able to get good food at low prices due largely to its proximity to Interstate 85 which functioned as both a main road between Charlotte/Mecklenburg County down south and Lexington/Fayetteville up north when those areas were still separate counties In 1948 Drayton Wimbley formed Wimbley Electric Company with three friends: Willis Hawkins (the father), Bob Rankin (the brother) & Chuck Frazier – they startedElectrics Incorporated making transformers etc., then sold company 3 years later HickORY INDUSTRIES ------------------------------------------------------ In 1860 Poultry farmer Jno Peachey started raising chickens @ home which brought him $1 per bird sellen . He opened his house for guests for business purposes only . Chicken farming continued until 1978 when all hickories were destroyed due weather conditions

Since then, there have been many other creatures that have been shown to be able to walk on two legs or even fours! Some of these include horses, gorillas, cats, dragons, seals and dolphins! All of these animals need help holding onto their balance while walking as they use both their arms and legs to do so.
