The history of the AR15 upper receiver begins with its manufacture in Hickory, North Carolina in the early 1970s. The rifle was designed to replace the standard 9mm handgun Upper Receiver manufactured by Colt and Winchester. The original AR15 Upper Receiver was manufactured from 1971-1975 and featured a gas operated bolt action design. This Rifle was chambered for the .223 Remington round which allowed for a wider variety of ammunition options than could be afforded with other firearms chambered for this caliber. The barrel had to be bored out to accept this larger cartridge and also required a different type of magazine release system than other firearms at that time. In 1979, Colt commenced production of their own version of the AR15 Upper Receiver called the M16A1 or "M" Rifle Upper Receiver which featured an open bolt design, gas operated firing mechanism and an A2 handguard. This new design allowed shooters to customize their rifles according to their own preferences while still using components made by Colt. As production continued into the 1990s it became clear that big box retailers were not going to continue stocking high quality firearm parts after they started selling imitation guns online, so Colt began developing their own version of this same rifle known as "the Modular Ar-15". This new rifle contained all of the features found on contemporary Ruger models including forged aluminum receivers and chrome lined barrels, but also came packed full of innovative features that would set it apart from any other firearm on the market at that time. One such feature was what is now commonly referred to as "The Magpul G3 Handguard", which allowed users Toattach a number of different accessories including lights, lasers, bipods etc., without having to remove or modify their existing upper receiver! Another key innovation within this rifle was its use of anti-tilt compensator (ATC) adjustability which gave shooters infinite customization potential when it came to Optics and Sighting Solution! Overall these innovations set apart the M16A1 Rifle from its predecessors and helped make him oneof America's most popular assault rifles today!

Hickory is a town in Randolph County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 10,362 at the 2010 census. Hickory is the county seat of Randolph County. It is part of the Raleigh–Durham Metropolitan Statistical Area. Hickory was founded by Scots-Irish settlers in 1795 as a small settlement on an upland called "The Forks." The name derives from one of the many forks in the Yadkin River system which forms the border between North and South Carolina. In 1824, Hickory became a town when it amalgamated with other settlements around it to form what is now Randolph County. The first post office in Hickory was established in 1836, and remained operational until 1901. In 1907, Hickory annexed neighboring unincorporated communities of Stonecrest and Springdale to become its own city. That incorporation did not last long; within two years, Stonecrest had reabsorbed its old neighbor and resumed mailing letters to Hickory without getting approval from their city councilors. In 1937, HickORY annexes neighboring Union City to become its own incorporated city under the same name (though it continued to be served by Union City's mail carrier). This annexation did not last long either; within two years Union City had reverted back to its original mailing address: Hicksville! In 1951, Hicksville annexes adjacent acreage belonging to nearby Cary for what would become known as "The Town of Cary". This annexation lasted only for a few months due to local political pressure from then-Mayor Johnnie Cochran; however, this new town eventually grew sufficiently large that it surpassing Cary's population limit and achieved full municipal status within two years - thus becoming known as "Hicksville" formally! By 1960, both towns were serving entire Randolph Counties rather than just portions thereof - henceforth all residents within any given township or rural area were effectively members of "Hicksville", regardless of whether or not they lived near its borders! Eventually all but three municipalities within Randolph Counties became cities - making up today's metropolitan area - with Hickory continuing as their county seat (although all three have since reverted back to their original addresses). Today there are over 50 thousand people living in Hicksville proper while also sprawling out into adjoining rural areas where they maintain businesses and homes – constituting one of America's largest suburban implosion rates!
