In 1847, James Waddell purchased land east of present day I-40 and developed it into what is today known as Waddell Park View Farmsteads; this area includes much of what is now downtown Hendersonville. In 1881, Jno.[Joseph] Aiken organized what are now the Methodist Episcopal Church (USA) and other churches in town under one roof; this event marked the beginning of high school education in town and also inaugurated electrical lighting within town limits which continues to this day! In 1906, US Route 40 through Hendersonville becameCounty Road #1 after being rerouted from its original path around Chapel Hill due to flooding caused by Hurricane Floyd! Hennepin Brewing Company opened its doors later that year on Seventh Street just north of Davidson Avenue – becoming one of America’s first craft breweries! Today’sidence remembers these early days with two preserved Pioneer Cabin Restoration buildings across from each other on Seventh Street – perfect for events or meetings!

Grant came into town to rest his troops after Battle of Franklin and found that it had been looted by Confederate forces retreating from that battle; he ordered Federal troops to enter and protect Patterson's mercantile business which had been pillaged by Confederates before they left town - this event is generally considered to be the beginning of lawlessness in Hendersonvil
