In 1835, when Duffield Parish was created within Hendrickson County, some of these Irish settlers decided to move back to Ireland and establish themselves there instead of returning to their old home in North Carolina. Unknown to them however, this decision would lead to many disputes between the Irish and English residents over land ownership and boundary lines - one such dispute led to actual violence between Irish and English settlers nearpresent day Henderson (then Duffield Parish) in 1836. Despite this trouble, some of these early settlers did manage to build some very large homes here including one in which Governor Tryon resided during his stay in Raleigh during the late 1820s before he moved south across state lines into Matthews County (now Durham). When Interstate 85 was built through much of NC during the late 1960s/early 1970s it changed everything - not only did it change how people traveled around NC but also how businesses functioned; as local businesses became less able to rely on trucking services for deliveries they turned more towards having employees come into work each day from home instead.
