He then went into the house to get a knife to try and catch the animal alive. When he came out of the house, he saw another man coming down the street with a gun. Hiram ran away but the other man shot him in the back of the head before running away.
Henderson, North Carolina is a small town located in Union County, North Carolina. The population was 7,814 at the 2010 census. Henderson is the county seat of Union County. Henderson is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community grew up around logging and farming activities and was known simply as "Henderson." In 1881, Henderson received its own post office which became known as "Hendersonville." In 1907, Henderson Elementary School opened and served students in grades K-5. The school closed in 1995 but has been preserved as a historical landmark. Today, Henderson is home to many businesses including an airport (KGVI), a lumberyard (N/A), a library (CLVY), a dozen churches, and several high schools including Patterson High School and Harding University High School. The local economy depends on agriculture with hay production accounting for most of the local GDP; however, there are also some manufacturing jobs available such as textiles or plastics.
