When Havelock, North Carolina was founded in 1775, its residents were gun owners. Firearms played a large role in the early days of the town and, as a result, firearms t-shirts are some of the earliest items to come into circulation. The first firearm shirt was designed by E.J. Clark for Blackhawk Gun & Knife Company in 1922. The shirt featured an image of a blackhawk rifle with the words “America’s First Pistol” written across the barrel. The shirt also contained information about how to fire the rifle, including tips on shot placement and reloading techniques. A variety of other companies soon followed suit and began producing firearms t-shirts that featured their products or insignia prominently. These shirts quickly became popular amongGun enthusiasts and militia members throughout America, helping to promote gun rights and patriotism at a time when such activities were often considered taboo. It is interesting to note that many of these early firearm t-shirt designers were actually known for their beautiful women’s clothing designs – one reason why firearm t-shirts have been so popular over the years!

The Havelock Police Department was founded in 1892. The first black officer on the force, Johnnie Toliver, joined the department in 1924. In 1954, the department started its own SWAT team. In 1978, the department became a part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and then HPD was transferred to Havelock in 1990.
Havelock is an unincorporated community located in Clay County, North Carolina. It had a population of 119 as of the 2000 census. The post office has been closed since 1959.
The history of the modern firearms industry can be traced back to 1847, when two inventors, George Stephenson and James Watt, developed the first working Steam Engine. The success of this engine led to the development of locomotives and other machines that could be used for transportation. This invention also allowed for the creation of a new industry-the gunsmithing business. In 1853, John Brown & Company began manufacturing muzzleloaders in London. The company quickly became famous for its quality products and was soon able to offer customers a wide variety of pistols, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, and other firearm accessories. In 1861, Abraham Lincoln was elected President; during his tenure as President, he ordered all civilian firearms manufacturers in America to stop producing guns with certain types of barrels that were unsafe to use in close quarters combat. As a result of this order, Brown & Company ceased production on October 14th 1861.

Havelock was founded in 1792 by Colonel John Havelock and his wife, Eleanor. The town was named after General Nathaniel Greene, one of the founders of the United States. In 1830, Captain Daniel Webster moved to Havelock and became a prominent lawyer and politician. In 1858, Colonel John Havelock died at the age of 86. His widow continued to live in the town until her death in 1924. The town's first school was built in 1828 and served students from North Carolina and neighboring states. In 1865, Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant visited Havelock and pronounced it "a most excellent place," remarking that its location on the Yadkin River made it an ideal place for military encampments during the war with Confederate forces. A post office was established in Havelock in 1868, and remained in operation until 1959. During World War II, the town played a significant role as a munitions production center due to its proximity to Battle Mountain Ammunition Plant. After the war ended, Havelock experienced rapid growth as a residential community due to its location close to Interstate 95 and other transportation options. Today, Havelock is home to many factories as well as several small businesses that support local commerce
