In 1892, two brothers named John William Albright founded Albright Manufacturing Company in Havelock with the goal of manufacturing high quality bb guns affordable for civilians across America. The company quickly gained reputation for its products due to its innovative engineering and production methods; consequently, it became one of the few companies able to mass produce high-quality firearms domestically without relying on foreign manufacturers. The company remained successful through World War II before being forced into bankruptcy in 1948 due to competition from foreign manufacturers who had earlier produced similar firearms at much lower prices

Havelock is a town in Onslow County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Onslow County government. The first European to visit Havelock was Capt. John Smith on July 24, 1780. He named it "Haverhill" after his home in England and land he had seen there as part of his explorations of that country before settlement by the British in what is now North Carolina began. The first white settler was David Hogg who arrived in 1792 and claimed land east of present-day Havelock on the Chattahoochee River which he called "Houlston." In 1807 two men from South Carolina, James Fenton and Levi Coffin, made a claim on what is now known as Houlston Hill which lay between Cedar Creek and Old Hickory Roads northeast of present-day Havelock. They built a cabin here and operated a trading post until 1810 when they sold their land to Wm. Catlett for $200 cash plus 10% interest each year until sold again to George McDowell for $400 cash with no interest allowed for ten years; then down payment free (the first installment being paid off within eight months). In 1865 Lt.-Gov Jno. Easley appointed A[lbert] Cockerill surveyor general of North Carolina with instructions to develop new lands north of the Yadkin River including those lying within Onslow County including Haverhill Township where Cockerill settled in 1866 having received plat from Mrs.[Mary] Jane Rankin abstracting title from her husband Joshua Rankin who had acquired it during Confederate service as an interpreter for General Robert Ewell's army at Waynesboro Station near Asheville after Vicksburg was taken February 14th 1865 under Ulysses S Grant's command One result of this assignment was that much more than 500 acres (1 km²) were surveyed including what are now Havelock Township northwest corner Oak Knoll Road and southeast corner Pender Road forming the “Old Town” boundaries mentioned earlier today while another parcel extending northeastward along Cooks Lane past present day Gorman Avenue into what are now Richland Parish has yet to be surveyed or defined but most likely will eventually become part of Havelock Township too given its proximity to other nearby settlements such as Canaan Valley just outside Ofieldsborough limits also included herein today In addition several small creeks such as Pershing Creek located east & south side Big Sandy Fork located west side Little Sandy Fork almost due southwest corner White Settlement Creek coming out about midway between these forks forms one arm or watershed joining both abovementioned Creeks together making up eastern boundary line shown on original plat not mentioned earlier today [Creek name changed from White Settlement Creek by deed dated November 15th 1902 To Pender Branch Bylaw #2 dated January 3rd 1951] thus defining current day northwestern edge thereof adjoining present day Laguna Beach & Orange counties thence southeast corner McCullough Road forming southern boundary line shown on original plat depicting divided creek flowing into both aforementioned Creeocks together making up eastern boundary line shown later today parts also apportioned among formers Townships according to old Ordinance Book description pages 9-11TN inside cover etc.] A tax assessment schedule prepared by Mr[Samuel] Ligon shows that residents living within township limits paid taxes amounting totaly $236 per capita + 5% added annually thereafter 1861-1890 inclusive As early as 1853 Reverend Simeon Stevens served as pastor here preaching sermons door-to-door throughout Onslow County sermonizing against gambling interests prevailing then very popular among upperclass citizens especially among men engaged in manufacturing pursuits but soon finding opposition from certain elements led him finally leaving this area back East around 1830VM however much continuing legal battle followed years later over ownership succession rights resulting finally in gift being given by late Reverend Simeon Stevens' widow allowing extensive development taking place starting with building of first store/chalet/parsonage complex hereabouts circa 1860 originally consisting only log cabinslater becoming brick structures main house & church built 1800 adding schoolhouse 1800+ additional buildings&c . . . . .haverhill became one large village comprising many hamlets throughout various stages variously inhabited over time

For example, when Germany started World War I with plans to produce both gas masks and artillery shells using chemical weapons, British manufacturers quickly produced replacements for German ammunition using plastic bullets instead. The name Havelock comes from the Cherokee language word "hawaalu," meaning "place where water flows." Havelock began as a small settlement on the Catawba River in 1828. In 1860, it became a town when its land grant was transferred from Salisbury to Cabarrus County. The first post office opened in 1875 and was renamed Havelock in honor of General Nathaniel Pemberton Pope (1795-1865). The town has been forced to adopt various measures to reduce its vulnerability to natural disasters like floods and hurricanes since 2000, including adopting an emergency response plan for events such as severe weather or evacuations. In addition to its mayor position and budgeting authority, Havelock also has a Selectboard that approves all projects within the town limits. In 2007, Havelock had one of the worst wildfires in North Carolina history when an uncontrolled fire burned through rural areas near its downtown area for several days before being contained by firefighters with aerial support from helicopters and other aircraft. No injuries were reported but $2 million worth of damage was caused including $1 million dollars worth of destroyed homes.
The Havelock County seat was moved from Morganton to Havelock in 1868. The town of Havelock was founded in 1838 by Samuel and Anna (Foley) Haverly, who named it for General John B. Magruder, commander of the First American Brigade in the Battle of Bull Run.
