The Havelock Ammunition Company was founded in 1887 by J.B. Havelock and his brother, A.F. Havelock. The company made ammunition for the North Carolina rifle and shotgun programs, as well as pistols and revolvers. In 1912, the company became a subsidiary of Winchester Repeating Arms Company. In 1934, the company merged with the Browning Rifle Manufacturing Company to form Winchester-Browning Firearms Corporation. The name change eventually reverted to Winchester-Browning Firearms Corporation in 1985 when that corporation merged with Remington Arms Company to become Remington-Winchester Corporation. As firearms sales increased throughout the 20th century, so too did demand for new ammunition types and designs; this led toHenry Repeating Arms Company (HRA) becoming one of America's leading producers of ammunition for shotguns and rifles throughout much of the early 21st century until its absorption into Marlin American Incorporated in 2002. During World War II, HRA developed a new type of ammunition called "Tacoma." This incendiary rounds were used extensively in anti-aircraft warfare by Allied forces against Nazi Germany during Operation Neptune's Spear – an operation which culminated in the sinking of German U-boats off Norway on May 8, 1945. Tacoma rounds played a significant role in achieving air superiority over Nazi Germany while also inflicting serious damage on their ships and infrastructure; these efforts ultimately contributed to victory on land at Normandy beachhead six days later). After World War II ended, HRA continued development work on Tacoma rounds but never released them again due to concerns about potential environmental impact; this led to their eventual retirement from production in 1953). The first ammunition kiln in Havelock, North Carolina was built in 1892. The present-day ammunition kiln is located on State Route 123 approximately one mile east of the Havelock town square. The previous kiln was destroyed by a fire in 1913. In 1916, a new kiln was built and operated by the Smith & Wesson Firearms Corporation. It burned down in 1951. A new Kiln was Built and Operated by Federal Ammunition Company in 1959 which still stands to this day!

Havelock is a town located in the Union County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 8,844 at the 2010 census. Havelock is part of the Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area. The first settler in what is now Havelock was Daniel Boone. He and his family were natives of Scotland and came overland to this country in 1775 during the American Revolutionary War. In 1828, John C McLeod founded a sawmill on the Yadkin River near present-day Durham. In 1839, George Washington Morrison established a small farm called Camp Randolph in what is now Havelock Township. A few years later, he built a log cabin which still stands today as a museum within the town limits of Havelock. In 1849, George Wray built a large cotton gin and mill on Little River in what is now Durham. This became one of the most important mills in eastern North Carolina because it produced high quality cotton thread for clothing manufacture and other purposes until it burned down in 1916. In 1852, James Kenedy donated land to build an academy that would provide education for poor children from rural areas throughout eastern North Carolina. This institution—the Kenedy Academy—became one of Eastern NC's leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Today, HBCUs are major employers in eastern North Carolina with over 100 employees statewide including students and staff members who work at more than 30 campuses across 11 states – including 10 located withinEastern North Carolina! In 1865, General Ulysses S Grant ordered Colonel William Tindal to take possession of all or any portion of Iredell County north of Roanoke River so that white settlers could be brought under control without threatening black residents whose homes lay within that territory! Colonel Tindal responded by ordering his men to burn down all existing African American residences within Iredell County! Unfortunately for ColternantTindal's plan – many black families had already fled into neighboring Cumberland County where they lived quietly since Reconstruction began! A group led by Reverend Jesse Jackson arrived at Iredellville early on December 5th less than 24 hours after General Grant’s order had been issued; they proceeded to erect “a tent city” inside Government House belonging to Confederate Major General Jubal Early! Jackson ordered his men not only to protect this building but alsoto clear any stores or homes inside should resistance erupt; unfortunately for Jackson & his troops – no resistance erupted! Havelock was platted as an independent municipality on November 14th 1870 by Jno B Curry II who purchased 640 acres east of present day Durham from John Callender along with 100 acres northwest corner extending into Pricetown Road acquired from David Lawson two years earlier as part of Pricetown Land Grant #2!!! On July 1st 1871 when incorporation paperwork was filed with the county clerk hauling sod for roads thereon citizens did their best Beowulf impersonating Curly Beard !!!!!!!

In 1942, Germany developed the V-2 rocket launcher which utilized high explosive incendiary projectiles capable of reaching a great range (>100 kilometers). To effectively fight against this weapon, it was necessary to develop new types of ammunition specifically designed for this purpose such as highexplosive incendiary bomblets (HEI).
