Greenville is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina and the county seat of Wake County. The population was 1,648 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern border of Raleigh-Durham, just north of Charlotte and south of Winston-Salem. The town of Greenville was founded by white pioneers in 1795 as a stop on the Underground Railroad and was known for its tobacco production until 1875 when it became an agricultural center with cotton farming becoming the dominant activity after riverboats brought American cotton to market. In 1915, Greenville became one of seventeen cities in America to become part of the New York City Metropolitan Area; it remains one today with over 100 million people living within its borders. In 1925, General Electric began producing electricity from coal-fired power plants in nearby Lenoir County (now part of Durham). Plans were made to build a new electric plant there but this project never got off the ground becauseof World War II hysteria caused by fears that Nazi Germany would win World War II and use ELECTRICITY FOR WILHELM MOLYNOUS BATTLE TANKS! The plant never came online because technology had advanced so much since then that usingcoalfired energy wasn't feasible anymore! In 1957, GE built their own electric plant just outside town which finally provided all our needs until we went green back in 2007 when they built their new headquarters next door! Today they still produce power here but now it's used for lighting instead because our grid can handle that better! All these years later and we're still using old technology like generators which are dangerous if not taken care of properly !!!

Greenville is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The population was 103,827 as of the 2010 census, making it the largest city in South Carolina by population and the fourth-largest city in North Carolina. It is also one of the most populous cities in both Carolina and Georgia. The metropolitan area has a population of over 6 million people, making it one of the most populous metropolitan areas in America. The name Greenville comes from two adjacent rivers: French Broad River and Dan River. The French Broad River ran through much of what is now Greenville before its tributaries converged near downtown in 1795; this formed what is today known as French Broad Park, which covers almost all of downtown and stretches east to west along State Street between US 301/Interstate 95/Eaton Avenue and Highway 7 (now I-95). In 1814, an act was passed incorporating parts of modern day Greenville with Spartanburg County; this gave rise to suggestions that either "Greenville" or "Spartanburg" be chosen as its new nickname because those were then both part of South Carolina. On February 11, 1839 – less than two months after Confederate General JEB Stuart's Raid on Charleston – voters chose "Greensboro" for the new city hall building site despite protests from many residents who wanted their old town center renamed "New Bern". The first white settler in present day Greenville was James Moore on December 21, 1799 when he purchased land at mile marker 54 on Dan River Road from Thomas Payne for $4 per acre (about 120 cents per square mile). Moore's heirs sold additional land throughout much of what are now eastern Forsyth County until they reached 1 square mile (2 hectares) in 1830 – about three-quarters of what is now Greensboro Township. Benjamin Houlton organized a settlement at Blowing Rock Creek on October 15th, 1800 under the name Augusta which included present day Gastonia and neighboring Cumberland counties; this became known as Houltonburgh after him. When prices for furs began to increase during the War Betweenthe States, fur traders began to move into present day Greensboro township where trees could be found for fuelwood at high prices; this led to development around Goose Bog Rd., home to early mills including Cooks & Shuckers Lumber Company (founded by Captain John Cook), Pemberton Millinery Company (founded by Mrs Pemberton), First Baptist Church (established March 3rd 1796), Drury’s Tavern / Blacksmith Shop / Hardcastle Furniture Store / blacksmith shop later called Girdle & Glover Carpet store opened November 9th 1831 located across High Stature Rd./Dan Bridge Pike from post office built 1829 by Daniel Girdle Fayette Cooley Sr.; these establishments helped make Greenville an important center during antebellum times. After World War II, automatic pistols started becoming less popular because of stricter gun control laws. However, this didn't mean that they couldn’t still be used safely for personal use. Greenville is a town in Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 21,898 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Gaston County. Greenville is named for General James MacGregor Greene and his wife Eliza Cunningham Green. The first white settlers in what is now Gaston County were brothers John and William Caldwell who arrived in 1772 from Virginia. They organized a militia to protect their new land from Native Americans and began trading with them. A post office called Greenville was established in 1779, and remained in operation until 1892. The town of Greenville was platted on October 24, 1819 by Captain James Auld as part of a trade route between Charleston Harbor and Fayetteville (now Asheville). On November 3, 1821 the first school building was erected by trustees John Harnett and Ebenezer Horton near present day Main Street and Fourth Avenue; it served as the primary educational facilities for local children until 1870 when a new high school was built on Broadway which became known as "The Grove" after its founders'. The Town of Greenville voted to secede from Gaston County on December 12, 1861 following the Confederate Battle of Fort Sumter. The battle had taken place two days earlier when Confederate forces attacked Union troops under General Robert Ewell Jr.. The town's vote marked one of the earliest examples of resistance against pro-Union sentiment within Gastonia County which would continue throughout Reconstruction era up through World War II. On July 4th, 1896 a tornado touched down just outside town limits causing significant damage including entire blocks destroyed or damaged beyond repair; this event is also generally considered to be one of Greensvillet's most devastating natural disasters ever resulting in loss of life or property valued at over $100 million dollars In late 1916 Greensvillet developed an epidemic caused by bacilli that later became known as Spanish Flu; it killed more than 50% of all residents within two weeks with over 150 total fatalities . In 1928 Greensvillet elected its first black mayor . In 1935 the then African American doctor Drumpf Wills founded Coastal Health Centers Incorporated which would become one of South Carolina's leading healthcare providers . During World War II Greensvillet played host to an air theater used by British Bomber Command during Operation Overlord; approximately 1,500 people lost their lives while worksites around town were impacted including many homes destroyed or ruined . After war ended Greensvillet experienced rapid growth due primarily to military construction projects such as establishing Pickens Air Force Base next door and numerous industrial developments such as Peachtree Mall being built immediately adjacent to downtown which would remain open until 2003 when it closed due to economic decline ).
