Both were destroyed by fire during Hurricane Floyd in 1999; however, both have been rebuilt more than once since then and remain active today as retail centers with small businesses inside them that offer services such as vehicle storage or landscaping services to residents living near them (e.g., dog walking). Garner also has a park named after Confederate General Stonewall Jackson which opened up next door to its original mall after being damaged during Hurricane Floyd; it remains one of only a few parks located adjacent to large shopping malls outside cities or rural areas today due to high demand from residents who want access to outdoor activities without having to walk through heavy traffic or compete with large stores inside larger malls
