Gun lasers have been around for centuries and some of the earliest examples were created in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. Gun lasers are devices that use light to make a killing shot. In 1868, French scientist François Arago developed an airgun that he called the Arago Rifle that could shoot up to 100 rounds per minute (rpm). This rifle was soon adopted by the French military and became known as the Aragon Rifle due to its similarity to the French Revolutionary Wars Napoleon Bonaparte fought against Spain under Ferdinand VII (ruler at that time). In 1915, American astronomer Theodore Roosevelt developed what is now known as a “gun laser” while working on NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center project called Laser Rangefinder/ ranging equipment for space exploration purposes. This device allowed scientists from Earthto measure distances between planets using light pulses rather than relying on measurements made using traditional methods such as surveys or trigonometry which could take months or even years depending on how accurate these methods were. With this technology, scientists were able to determine whether planets hadiverse atmospheres which would have revealed evidence about their origins and evolution over time! By 1967, all human-made Laser ranges had been lost in space resulting in what is now know as Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO). Fuquay Varina is a town in southwestern North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg-Durham Metropolitan Statistical Area. FV was founded in 1869 by General John B. Magruder as a small community on Cockspur Creek, east of what is now Fuquay Varina High School and south of Interstate 85. Fuquay Varina began to grow rapidly in the early 19th century due to its strategic location on the retreat route from Confederate forces during the Civil War. By 1830, the town had over 1,000 residents and was named for Captain James Fuqua (1783-1850), an American Revolutionary War veteran and captain of HMS "Fairy" who had served under Admiral Horatio Nelson on HMS Victory during the Battle of Trafalgar. The first post office opened in 1836 and by 1840, there were 12 stores and 50 homes within 2 miles (3 km) of each other. In 1860, when Tarleton's Cavalry Department raided nearby Swainstown for cattle, local farmers banded together to drive off their attackers with gunfire. This event is considered to be one of the earliest recorded examples of organized militia action in North Carolina; it soon became an annual event that helped build Fuquay Varina's reputation as a safe place to reside and gather goods while avoiding Confederate raiding parties. In 1865, General Nathan Bedford Forrest invaded South Carolina and tarred and feathered dozens of men associated with General John Balfour's Confederate army at Fort Fisher; this event is generally considered to be FV's founding date as a community full time with its own government/police force/fire department/courthouse). By 1870, FuquayVarina had developed into a thriving town with over 100 residents total including 30 businesses including 3 banks – all located within blocks of each other on Second Street between College Avenue and Third Street – making it one of America's most densely populated towns at that time (the only suchtown in North Carolina then). Varina married John Fuquay on Valentine's Day 1819 and moved to the colony of Charlotte in 1824. There she became the first woman to hold a position as teacher at the newly founded Charlotte Female Academy. In 1830, she served as president of the State Senate and later as governor of North Carolina. After her death in 1872, Varina was buried with full military honours at Fort Mecklenburg National Military Park.

The first European to visit Fuquay Varina was the Captain of the HMS "Pandora" in 1778. The town was founded by Major General James Johnston, who built a stockade around present day Fuquay Varina in 1807. In 1814, Colonel John Cushing purchased the land from Major General Johnston and made it his own. Fuquay Varina became a town on July 1, 1815. The original courthouse and jail were destroyed by a fire in 1903, but a new courthouse and jail were completed in 1906.
