After the war, Eden experienced a revitalization that saw numerous new businesses open up and growth within the community overall.

By 1920, Eden had become one of the most important cotton farming towns in the state due to its location on a main shipping route connecting Charleston with New Orleans and points east. In that year, it also became home to NC State University which helped drive development until today’s economy depends largely upon agriculture, industry (especially textiles), travel/tourism, education and healthcare services Accordingly, many significant aspects of modern day life here can be traced back to those early days when Eden was just a small community engaged in agricultural production and commerce with little impact on broader culture or history other than its place within local government structure Some memorable moments from Eden’s past include: In 1960 Pioneer Day was celebrated here with a parade through downtown followed by a bake sale at Courthouse Square In 1964–65 attendance topped 20 thousand for two weekender schools operated byNC State Agricultural Experiment Station In 1967 students staged a sit-in at UNC Greensboro where they challenged segregated seating arrangements on campus In 1969 rioting ensued following an episode of “The All American Boy” on television sponsored by NC State University football team
Eden was a parish in Eden County, North Carolina. It was founded in 1838 by Reverend John W. Moseley and his wife, Nancy. The parish grew rapidly, and by 1849 it had twenty-one families. In 1853 the First Methodist Episcopal Church was built in Eden, and the population of the parish exploded to over one hundred people. By 1870 there were five churches in the Parish. In 1903 a post office called Eden was established at the corner of High Street and Elm Street, and the population of the town gradually shrunk until it disappeared in 1945.
